Huh. AIM is now working again. Me confused.
@DavidPostill Are you using Greasemonkey 4 (GM4)? If so, I'd suggest switching to Tampermonkey or Violentmonkey w/ FF57+. GM4 really isn't ready for general use (missing significant functionality). That completely ignores the fact that GM4 has chosen to completely break multiple things for scripts. The fact that it does so will be an on-going issue for all scripts which you use from now on. When GM was 1st/#1 they could drive what was adopted. Now it's <10% of the userscript manager installed base.
00:27
@Makyen No. I'm already using ViolentMonkey since FF57 was released.
@Makyen even on FF 56 they switched the working greasemonkey3 to their buggy GM4 version, i switched to tampermokey because of that
!!/watch letsencrypt\.org
@iBug You don't have code privileges, but I've created PR#1400 for you.
@iBug you don't want to do that
00:31
Nope
What?
That's where my SSL certs are from, for one. It's completely legit.
Let's encrypt is not spam
Oops.
!!/reject
00:32
@Mithrandir No such command 'reject'.
:) Looks kinda shady at first glance
Thanks for pointing out and rejecting.
Quite a sneaky edit.
also where the Charcoal website and all my apps get certs from :)
@Videonauth Yeah, they even did that for 52ESR. Unfortunately, there's really nothing GM can do about it now (Mozilla doesn't permit them to release a non-WebExtensions version after releasing a WebExtensions based version). The only thing that's available for getting back to GM3 is for users to manually downgrade to v3.17 and disable auto-updates for GM.
yep, i switched to tampermonkey, they actually got it working properly
00:45
@Undo what does add_or_update_api_data do
@quartata Link? No idea off the top of my head
nevermind figured it out. I think it's the count of how many API calls we made
hmm I waa hoping to be able to hoist that out but I realize that it might not necessarily be only one API call per batch fetched
for SO it'll be 2, I'm sure there are other cases
!!/hats
@Mithrandir Winter Bash won't end for 18 days, 23 hours, 9 minutes, and 34 seconds. GO EARN SOME HATS!
I guess I should look and see what this is actually doing first
00:52
@quartata should be
AFAIK we never fetch more than 100 in a batch
But for SO we also fetch the most recently updated questions in a separate call
then yeah that'll be two :)
this current code does not actually account for that, it's underreporting SO quota consumptiom
by half
...not sure why we didn't notice since it wouldnt add up to the total quota consumed
I'll wait for rollover to verify
or I guess I could just look at last rollover
...I must not be doing this right. The number of API calls it's listing doesn't come close to the amount of quota consumed even with the correction
what am I missing

Yesterday, I ordered an item and saw it shipped from a warehouse less than an hour and a half from me. Sweet...it'll be here tomorrow then. Well, tomorrow has come and gone and FedEx tracking says...Friday. Because I didn't pay for next day or two day shipping. So, instead, it's been on the worlds slowest moving truck for the past day and will remain on that truck until Friday.
@Andy Yes.This is for per-site quota consumption
@Undo We also had less aggressive queue thresholds
Keep in mind it's only for SO
@Andy I've got a fun shipping thing too.
02:11
ok gonna try it on this rollover. I think the previous one didn't show the show more link
Ordered an Amazon gift card as a gift for someone. They gave me a PO box address. Today got a "unable to find secure location" shipping status update... which doesn't make much sense for a PO box delivery from UPS.
So I contacted Amazon support about five minutes ago. This is their response:
> I suggest you to please contact the seller.
... umm
@Undo UPS can't deliver to actual USPS PO boxes. Only USPS can deliver to USPS PO boxes.
I know. Which is an issue, because I gave Amazon a PO box and they then gave my package to UPS
(well, I know now because I looked it up five minutes ago)
02:16
@Undo Yeah, they should catch that. It's not like it's a new thing :-).
OTOH, many people inaccurately state "P.O. Box" for addresses which are actually a private mail company box (e.g. at a UPS store). Although when people do that, it's while listing a physical address, not just the P.O. Box @ City, State zip code.
Yeah, this is a real PO box
OK this still doesn't make any sense. The sum of those numbers is 1835, we consumed 12020 quota
02:34
@Andy welcome to Australia's $30 express postage system
@angussidney to be fair, Australia is really really big
@Undo roughly the same size of the US
Albeit with a much lower population
Anyone know much about transferring a domain to a different registar? @ArtOfCode maybe since you just did it?
I need to do so for a relative's website
@angussidney Target registrar usually makes it easy. Source registrar doesn't, but the target one will show you which buttons to click.

@SurajRao something is wacky, I think Flare is the one having problems actually but it could be the other way around of course
maybe @ThomasWard can investigate when he gets here
@SmokeDetector this would happen when the current Smokey is not responding
if the timeout is too tight you get two Smokeys
ah ok..
I guess it would not be hard for Smokey to notice when another instance says it "received failover signal" and yield or somehow otherwise try to sort it out
only what if the one which says it "received failover signal" is the one misbehaving? you have to understand the failure scenarios
