Q: Is it possible to shorten a data:text/html, link?

The GamerI have been coding on a link called data:text/html, (if you write it in the adress bar, you could write any html and css after.) Does anyone know how to shorten this link, I have tried goo.gl and bitly, but it says it is not able to create the link. This is my code: data:text/html, <!DOCTYPE html>

Is there a way to send a message to a specific ActionCable connection when it connects?

When the MS repo changes, do I have to go through the whole setup process for my local MS again? As in, clone, do the whole DB thang?

just git pull and run any migrations

@JF yeah, just do a normal websocket send from the subscribed callback, once you've set up streams

@ArtOfCode works thanks :) How come the top bar locally is black but on the real version it's white?

class TopbarChannel < ApplicationCable::Channel
  def subscribed
    stream_from 'topbar'
    ActionCable.server.broadcast 'topbar', { data: 'something' }
  end

  def unsubscribed
    # Any cleanup needed when channel is unsubscribed
  end
end
@Henders so you know whether you're looking at a dev instance or the real thing
if you run your local instance in production environment, it'll be white like normal
(you generally want to stay in dev, though)

Nice, I wondered if that might have been the reason :)
