we can, if we actually open the post
so no

12:33 AM
Okay, @ThomasWard figured the root problem: nginx isn't listening on :80, as reported by sudo netstat -peanut.
The root servers are working fine, but nginx is doing... apparently nothing.
Got it.
FYFI, @ThomasWard
needed to sudo ln -s /etc/nginx/sites-available/artofcode.co.uk /etc/nginx/sites-enabled/artofcode.co.uk, rather than just sites-enabled

... that's what you just said

yeah, that
:)

[ SmokeDetector | MS ] Few unique characters in answer, no whitespace in answer: What is localhost:8000 as used in Codecademy (for AngularJS and Ruby on Rails tutorials)? by user7560398 on stackoverflow.com (@dorukayhan)

@NobodyNada for my own information, did you get an email notification from my blog just now?

12:49 AM
@SmokeDetector k

Does stackoverflow catch people who submit copyrighted material on stackoverflow?
Is there some kind of system where a professor can have questions or answers removed because the person who posted it does not have the rights to that code?

@EricLeschinski The DMCA, yes

A lot of professors probably get mad as hell when their students basically post their copyrighted content that they've told students not to leak online to stackoverflow, and yet they still do, anonymously.

Copyright holder submits a DMCA complaint to the DMCA nominated agent at SO, SO review the complaint and remove the material; the offender can appeal the complaint.

This guy is apparently accosting a user via the university of washington: stackoverflow.com/users/7560355/cse-prof

12:57 AM
@EricLeschinski (a) how do you know? (b) what are they doing? (c) tell the mods

It's no big deal I'm just curious.
Sounds like an angry CS professor from the university of washington just got mad that some anonymous person posted his stuff on stackoverflow... So he posts an answer asking him if he's from university of washington.
Not sure what he hopes to accomplish with that though. lol

Or it could be just a dog

I haven't seen many dogs posting answers on stackoverflow lol. Is that an acronym?

Nah, just a reference to

@ArtOfCode It doesn't look like I did. Did I make a typo in my email address? It's SHA-256 should be 2339e0325aa080e9bc5284184bdc562d95ba4163d12124474a4e06ff85baadad

1:03 AM
@NobodyNada I have it in plaintext in the database :P lemme check the sum (ha!)

@ArtOfCode I figured you would; I just gave you the hash so you could verify it without me exposing my email in a public chat room

smart idea, really
Yep, email is correct
@EricLeschinski lack of 10k, can't view that
Yeah, if he has a copyright complaint he can submit a DMCA takedown notice through the proper channels. An answer is not the proper channel.
@NobodyNada how 'bout now? I kicked it gently, wonder if that did anything. If not, I'm gonna say it's stuck in a spam folder or queue somewhere, since I'm not using fancy DKIM-signed PKCS-authorized (or whatever the fancy stuff is these days) email

@ArtOfCode nope. It's not in my spam either; there's probably heavy caching on the mailer service or something
I'll let you know in a couple days if I've gotten it

@NobodyNada unlikely to be caching since it's now getting on an hour old; I'd say a spam filter nuked it before it got to you.
Unfortunate, but understandable. And probably means I should set up authenticated email.

1:30 AM
@NobodyNada Okay, I've set up some authentication on outgoing mail, so it should be classified as not-spam. I can't find a way to resend old emails or send test emails, so I'll let you know when the next post goes out to see if you got an email.
That was surprisingly painless.

@NobodyNada thanks for the link. Yeah the answer behind that link was just a mild complaint of their material found on stackoverflow. The speed of stackoverflow crowd solving a problem is now faster than the speed of a student finishing their homework, so there is conflict of interest there.

Or did I misread the wiki here, does the earliest revision count or something?

I'm not sure. Either v or naa- would work, but I picked the latter since it should be deleted as such.

Ah ok. Also had it flagged as such, our Natty bot picked it up. I'm just new to the sd feedback, so I thought I better ask.
