yeah, it gets an error code 1 which triggers a traceback

also the code to check user.email has a copy/paste error, it checks user.name again

@tripleee But then, it only checks if the value isn't empty, it doesn't check the exact values, and it uses normal git commands to commit to the repo, so you can still use local user.name and user.mail

because otherwise I will commit public work with my work identity more often than not
