@zaq EDit is bogus and username helps signal he's a troll (Plus fridge logic).

zaq
Well, the username was chosen by the same person who posted the original version... and unregistered users can't delete posts.
Anyway, this goes up to some mod to delete, I suppose.

Somebody just deleted the post and the user. Can unregistered users delete themselves?

zaq
Yes, they can.

okay then, maybe his brother really was the perp in this case.

zaq
Funny how they can't delete a post, but can delete the account, taking negatively scored posts with it.

^^^ And trollish usernames. It's a feature, not a bug. ;)
@zaq Undo's report on that post, is listed as coming from the userscript.

@ArtOfCode Could it be related to the fact I saw the feedback twice under the post? And that metasmoke is not thread safe/ uses transactions? (cc @Undo)

@Ferrybig A little clearer on the first part?

@Ferrybig i dunno about the transactions, but I was getting double feedback before because I by mistakenly installed the US twice. Check that

2:53 PM
I see no evidence of threading being an issue

@undo Sometimes, Art's script adds the handler twice, so when clicking report post, it makes 2 requests to metasmoke to add the feedback

I can't shake the feeling that I've done something very stupid
(unrelated to charcoal, but still)

Gotta do stupid stuff to know how to not do stupid stuff ;)

I answered that question about crossover on SO meta, and now that tim posted his answer I understand just what I helped kick loose and how unsavory this could get for SE staff

@Magisch link>

zaq
This business is what keeps the company alive, so of course they (Tim and others) have to carefully consider all aspects of it.

@Magisch you're fine

zaq
You do not, it's just your opinion.

There was another answer on that ... which was deleted due to being too much hot water in that thread
I can't shake the sinking feeling of having said something very very stupid that its too late to take back now

zaq
Well you could delete the answer if you regret posting it now.
I think Tim is right on target there: instead of SO the company judging the employers, let SO users do that themselves.

3:18 PM
Yes
I know
I see now that making a giant public meta case about a single employer will fix nothing and maybe put SE staff in hot water with that employer, and that treading on a single company's shortfalls all over an answer is a dunce way to adress that problem

I think your post is entirely appropriate. It shows how users feel about the company (and some historical posts of how they've thought in the past). It's important for others to see this.

Actually all that stuff on meta prompted some good internal discussions about how we think about job listings. The Stack Exchange of today isn't the same as the Stack Exchange of five years ago, when there were only ten people and everyone came to consensus on everything before any decision was made. Turned out we were all thinking about it from somewhat different perspectives and with different issues in mind.
It's far from a settled matter, we'll definitely be talking about it more in the future, for sure in general and I would suspect also in the specific case.

hey Pops! Didn't notice you were here

You could be forgiven for that because I wasn't really. Just left the room open from yesterday.
And now I'm heading off to lunch unless anyone has a burning question.

@Pops I would never take a permanent job, so it's a shame they don't allow people offering contract work

I disagree Smokey. That's not a title. That's an answer.
The plain !!/test is still an omnibus command, trying out the same text as title, question body, and username.
I think it should probably stay that way... but it might be useful to have test-t, test-q and test-u when one wants to specifically test something as a title, question body, or username. Thoughts?
