> A useful list (At least for me) would be a list of positively IDed spam users who are still alive -- Madara, chat.stackoverflow.com/transcript/message/28914310#28914310
This is something SE should do: a list of users who had all their posts deleted as spam. This may or may not involve Smokey.
15:06
We could do that with the data we already have
or at least a list of users who had their posts tp'd as spam
Yes, I imagine Metasmoke can have this by pinging userpages for those tp'd.
Or rather, pinging API which is less intensive.
@Sally just take the user IDs for tp posts over the last (timeframe), ask the API for those users, see which ones we get back
The all-caps title reason seems to target much low-quality posts and rants rather than real spam

@Sally Or just turn it on per-site
metasmoke can have its own 10,000 daily API requests.
which is a heck of a lot of requests
We could do 200 sites 50 times a day

Fast, too
I've been debating learning Django or RoR.
@Seth RoR seems to be generally known as an awesome thing for startup rapid-prototyping. Lots of jobs out there.
@Undo yeah, so it would seem. One of the AU moderators learned Ruby and RoR young and he's now a backend developer working on a Rails site. At 19.
@Seth I consult on a couple of them and I'm a few years younger.
Rails is magical.

@Undo The "reports by hour" graph gives the total number of reports, like 1806. Since it's not clear what time interval this corresponds to, this number doesn't say much. If you divide it by the number of days over which the data is collected (like latest-earliest records, maybe), we'd have "reports per hour" on the last chart, which is more informative.

@MadaraUchiha I'm not sure that's too important. I seem to recall hearing that SpamRam cares more about posts deleted by spam/offensive flags than it does when accounts are destroyed, i.e. the account destruction doesn't have a large impact on blocking.
@hichris123 Mad thinks otherwise... meta.stackexchange.com/a/257150
@Sally I upvoted that post. :/
Let me check...
I seem to remember a CM saying don't waste your time though.

A: As a moderator, should I re-flag spam that's already flagged, or just delete it?

Tim PostWhen we rolled out the spam system, we were putting a huge amount of faith in folks to flag things appropriately. Spam flags are often misused to say "I don't like this for some reason that wasn't presented in the list", so the system was built around a graduated set of weights. Something getti...

> moderators now don't need to spam-flag something to add extra weight, destroying the account alone will deal a blocking weight in the system. Likewise, if the community spam-flag deletes something, it's an instant blocking weight.

@hichris123 But they still need to do this for answers, unless the spam continues to live forever for 10K users.
Unless they fixed that thing very recently.
@Sally huh?

A: Post content not removed after spam/offensive flag

Tim PostIt only had 4 spam flags on it at the time that the user was destroyed, so this does indeed appear to be the case. Those flags were all validated, and the Community user even kicked in an automatic down vote - but it wasn't technically spam-flag deleted. This feature shouldn't require mods to s...

I don't know if they fixed it, there's no status tag.
"I'm going to look into a fix for this next week." - is it next week yet? :) — hichris123 6 secs ago
Now we wait 6-8 weeks...
Tim wants to be supportive and all, but then some dev time must be allocated, and everybody's busy building the Next Big Thing for Stack Overflow...
It's not super important either. 10kers will just have to see a little more spam...

I recently got to 10K on Web Apps and I kind of wish I haven't... not because of spam, but all the "I'm locked out of my facebook/gmail account, help" in answers.
