Looks like your bot doesn't like Unicode, @Sally.
@hichris123 Maybe I should exclude meta.ja.SO from that...
@hichris123 LOL
It's not like it would be more insightful with correct encoding.
@Sally That's your chat bot...
Okay, the chat is all in one place. Then I'll exclude by some regex, I guess.
01:43
Now you have two problems.
That sounds like a major improvement from the usual state of things.
if (/[a-z]{3}/i.test(text)) { post stuff } good enough
Is this a JS bot?
Google Apps Script. It fetches chat transcripts, keeps record of what's been tweeted in a spreadsheet, and tweets via email/IFTTT because I couldn't stand Twitter API.
The IFTTT step is where the Japanese characters got borked.

@Sally 'About Me's

@Sally I'm on the Blaze team. I got access to the Blaze repo but not Smokey.
@Undo Message ID, so that I can generate a feedback message. Unless there's an easier way to send it straight to metasmoke?
It tells me to go away if I AJAX it.
@ArtOfCode Yeah, hitting the report things requires you to be SmokeDetector.
So you want to create feedback?
Yeah I guessed.
@Undo Yeah. I want to add tick and cross buttons to my userscript so I can generate a chat feedback message from the sidebar.
That means I need the message ID so I can reply to it.
Probably would want to build login into metasmoke (it's already there, just not shown). Then open up another API to add feedback, using the already-logged-in cookie.
Because adding an unprotected route for that is asking for trouble
That would also work, but requires more work.
Not that much more
I'll look at it. Calculus homework first, then maybe some Rails magic
15:18
@Undo Nah. Store the message ID that you report the post in in the database. I get that at my end, I use it to construct a message. I AJAX a chat route with my user fkey - that's the security - to let me post the message in here.
@ArtOfCode Oh, you want to post directly to chat?
@Undo There ain't no other way Smokey takes feedback :)
We don't have that message ID anywhere. I tried to get it but CE didn't let me.
Oh of course
Feb 11 at 15:59, by Andy
@Undo holds up hand to heart I promise not to attack smokey over the weekend.
15:20
damnit CE
@ArtOfCode right now. I do think that metasmoke should be able to take feedback and pass it back to smokey.
Yeah, that would be useful.
Heck, Rails 5 (in beta right now) is going to have built in websockets. That'd be a great way to pass things back and forth.
Time to get updating :)
Seriously considering it
I've already played with it in dev
15:22
If it's in beta, it's not alpha. It's unlikely to have bugs so serious that they corrupt entire databases or other similarly serious things. Might get a few more 500 ISE's than we do right now, but otherwise I don't see it going terribly wrong.
Yeah
Item #589 that annoys me: The job title is "Senior <position>", however, the job description says "Entry level".
And Rails is usually fairly good about this kind of thing

@Andy Nope. It's on the first page.
I went to write up a meta post about the same company appearing on multiple pages, but now I'm getting a different first page, so I'm wondering if it's just pulling back results randomly
@Ferrybig Hey! That's my other set of results
Maybe its a case of: shouldiblamecaching.com

Question - let's assume that you folks were to be set to "graduated" status right this week. Would that be alright, or would you folks prefer that one or more of these textual-quick-fix-maybe-sorta deals were addressed before we started flipping switches? Keep in mind that privilege levels won't immediately change, so there shouldn't be too large a change to warrant concern, but thought I'd check in first if these were more of "Things to look into as part of the graduation process" or "Things to look into prior to graduation". — Grace Note ♦ 9 mins ago

So...question 1.) Why stick it in the toaster?
@SmokeDetector k
@Andy To get your toast out, obviously. They always say "don't use metal objects" - well, my penis isn't metal, so why can't I use that to get toast out?

@Ferrybig Interesting. I guess this is because portuguese is the last site in the list that Smokey rolled out in the previous report.
Some threading issues again? Need @hichris123 here, the tamer of wild threads.
@ArtOfCode the heck did I just walk in on
@Undo Someone trolling Astronomy. Got his penis stuck in a toaster, apparently.
@ArtOfCode we should help him.
If I had an astronomy diamond I would have had to send him a message offering tips and tricks for getting out of such a scenario.
Nope. I'm letting Darwin kick in on this spammer.
