[ SmokeDetector | MS ] Blacklisted website in answer (94): POST: sending a post request in a url itself by abdul ahmad on stackoverflow.com

@John_maddon Each chat room here on Stack Exchange/Stack Overflow has a particular focus. Each room has a description which you can find at the top of the right-sidebar (browser), and/or on the room's info page (browser and mobile version). This room's description is a bit tongue-in-cheek, so I understand your confusion as to what goes on here.
This room's focus is on the Charcoal project, which is primarily about finding and eliminating spam and rude/abusive content in posts on all Stack Exchange sites. This is done primarily by evaluating reports generated by the SmokeDetector bot and taking action on the posts which those reports are about, when the post needs some moderation.
I understand your desire to post your messages in a room that has a lot of recent traffic, but you should resist that desire. In most rooms, people tend to react quite negatively when someone comes in and asks about something that's not on-topic for the room, particularly if it's quite a bit off. I strongly recommend you read a room's description prior to posting and any FAQ or information linked from the description.

user435118
@John_maddon Welcome to Charcoal HQ. You have already posted a question on Math.SE and the Math chatroom. Please be patient and wait for a response. Charcoal HQ is not the place for these types of questions.

Overall, this isn't the right room for what you are asking about. You might want to try looking at the list of rooms on Stack Exchange Chat, and/or the list of rooms on Stack Overflow Chat. Those pages have a search function, which might help you find a room that's appropriate for what you want.

7:13 PM
@Xnero So here's why people like PRs on trivial stuff: If something seems trivial to you, that's probably because you have the right context in your head. Yes, Makyen's fully capable of implementing a change to rooms.yml, but it'll probably take him longer to get the right context and make the change than to validate a change made by someone who already had that context.
The likelihood of something getting done is inversely proportional to the amount of time it'll take someone to do it, and we don't ever push volunteers to make any specific time allocations to anything. So the best way to get something done is make it look like a really easy win.
(this works pretty much everywhere in life - if you need to get something done at school, or work, show up to someone's office with a form all filled out and just needing their signature. It's like magic.)

Hmm. I’m pretty sure I’ve used Smoke Detector before.

@EkadhSingh Makyen's got a pretty nice explanation for when that message gets sent:
Jul 19 '20 at 3:30, by Makyen
@Zanna Another time, it might be a bit more confusing, because SmokeDetector will post the same message in this room the first time you give feedback in chat on each chat server. So, it will post the same message up to twice more, once each the first time you give feedback on chat.stackoverflow.com and once the first time you give feedback on chat.meta.stackexchange.com. You can just ignore those when/if they happen.

@Undo I understand, but the majority of times I make PRs, I make a mess out of it.

@Xnero 1. PRs are safe and can be edited, reviewed, or rejected if they're incorrect before they're merged. 2. If you're not comfortable with a PR, it's better to put the request out generally so that anyone who is can go ahead and do so, rather than limiting yourself to those with write privileges.
If you had initially just put your original request out generally, along with a note that you weren't comfortable making a PR yourself, it's highly likely someone would have gone ahead and done so for you. On the other hand, your request made it seem like only Makyen could do so.

@gparyani It’s the mess that I create for myself in having to delete my fork and figure out the branches stuff, then it’s a mess with all of the excessive emails my actions send people which I’ve had several complaints about before.

Like I said, if you're not comfortable with a PR, just put the request out generally, with a note that says you're not comfortable with it.
