@user12986714 Yeah, that could have contributed to it, but it shouldn't, and that it does isn't your fault. It's been apparent from past problems that there's an issue with the query that's used on that page for preview or saving when the flagging condition is checked. OTOH, that query is occasionally used in bulk to verify all existing flagging conditions.
I do need to submit some JS code which prevents the buttons from being clicked more than once, but it's another area where something in the backend needs to be fixed. It's appeared to be something that changed when MS was moved. There are a couple/few places where queries which used to not be that significant have become much longer (e.g. at least this and one used in the normal autoflagging path).
@Makyen This looks much more dangerous than the three votes bug, as after all reviewing posts needs privileges but as you said, you would generally grant new account flagger role, which means a malicious spammer (who certainly doesn't like metasmoke) can use some scripts to take MS down.

[ SmokeDetector | MS ] Potentially bad ns for domain in answer (1): Are there any good websites that show step by step how to create a mobile website? by Gamers Vs Gamers on stackoverflow.com
tpu- feedback received
@user12986714 As has been the case for quite a while, flagger is only granted manually by an admin. At least my own criteria for doing so is, at a minimum, some reasonable amount of rep on at least one site. I doubt that an admin is going to grant flagger to anyone that doesn't qualify for at least the association bonus, which is not a trivial effort for a spammer to obtain. It's definitely possible, mostly through sock-puppets, but it's quite rare for that to happen.
So, yes, it is a problem, that does need to be fixed, but it's not something which will be available to an attacker without some amount of action on our part.
Note that a spammer attacking MS is something that has happened in the past, so it is something we should be thinking about.

@SmokeDetector The linked page doesn't actually explain or answer the question. It appears to be a site which just has some templates for Bootstrap. While I didn't explore the site, it doesn't appear to be something that would be reasonable to link to as an answer to the question. Thus, it looks a lot more like spam than NAA.

@ThomasWard As far as I could tell, it resolved itself after a relatively short time. Given the past history (i.e. that it's been stated that sometimes these queries get hard-stuck), it still seemed like a reboot might be a good preventive measure. However, I don't have any indication that a reboot is needed at this time.
ok
i'll reboot it again in a bit
Sounds good.

Q: Low effort questions and answers referencing a certain site

M.MExample question: Why does the compiler may not perform inlining, if the function contains static variables? Lately I have seen several questions like this, from low-rep accounts just linking to the site along with a low-effort question. And many answers where the "answer" is a link to the site...
