@SmokeDetector fp- But posting this answer on so many sites, even if relevant, seems excessive.
@treyBake I think it's worth watching email addresses, because users can and often do post messages promoting the same email address from accounts that have different usernames, and because the form of blacklisting that occurs automatically from tpu- is, I believe, specific to the current SmokeDetector instance.

@EliahKagan I'm confused by the first two regexes you put. Wouldn't both be caught be just evianneream? Or even evianneream(?:\.blogspot)?

@Das_Geek Yes. But if/when they are eventually blacklisted, they would likely need to be split up into separate regexes, in that there are separate keyword and website blacklists. I'm not confident that splitting them up now in this particular case was necessary, but that's why I did it.
!!/watch- (?-i:JD2JtHp-RDs)(?#youtu\.be)

@EliahKagan That is, I did them separately for the same reason as here. However, I emphasize that I am not confident that it was necessary to do that in this particular case. I don't know what the best approach in this particular case is. @Das_Geek

@EliahKagan Gotcha. Yeah, I forgot about that rule, and it's a good one. It could be argued that you probably don't need both the subdomain and the full thing, but it's just the watchlist so meh

@Das_Geek Yeah, I put a negative lookahead assertion on the keyword one, so they wouldn't both match in the same places (so scores don't go too high even if they were both moved to blacklists), but since a lot of these blogspot links are used very few times, they probably won't get moved to the website blacklist. So (as you suggest) I'm not sure it was really worthwhile here.

Yeah, it's meh either way

@treyBake It's a known issue with the specific instance of Smokey, iirc

@treyBake Not with feedback specifically, but I think something is up with Sandy Shores that causes problems with Git, and when that happens, the instance on it often loses its connection to the room.

@Undo is @thesecretmaster AWOL?

@ThomasWard o/

@thesecretmaster go check your pings that Undo made to you yesterday
re: redis

3 hours ago, by thesecretmaster
@Undo I don't have a guide, but I can explain when you need it?

(it's where we are 'blocked' on the MS migration process)
ah, I didn't see that
E:BROKENCHAT
:)
@thesecretmaster We could also arrange you access to the box, hence the ping, if you want to do it yourself :p
if Undo has no objections :P
but we'd need steps outlined in the metasmoke migration room since that's half-documentation there :)

2:46 PM
Sure, happy to do that as well, although for the future I should prolly write up a guide so that if I get hit by a bus nobody needs to go digging to figure it out.

heh indeed

Or at least have it documented in a chat transcript

... THEY'RE FIRIN THA LAZORS! ducks and covers (they're doing construction work, whatever tool they're using to rip up the carpeting sounds like a laser xD)
@thesecretmaster indeed. we have a half train-of-thought setup with Undo's statements in the room, for everyone's documentation/purposes.
we're also on a newer Node heh so hopefully stuff won't blow up :D

Although it isn't hugely complicated, tl;dr install redis (with version newer than ... 5.0 I think?), copy the rdb file over, tada
Oh and install zhregex, that's more complex
Although I should put an install guide for that in its git repo

see there's the nitpicky bits that we needed to know ;)
yep,.alls good I didn't see your msg in the chat logs though so I pinged :)
i will arrange for you to get access for redis maintenance like you had before I think?

2:49 PM

@Machavity heh

@ThomasWard Sure, works for me. You're new MS host?

@Machavity Or, i can actually fire up the 3U server sitting underneath my desk, its fans at full speed for 10m during boot sound like laser arrays
@thesecretmaster on infrastructure in my apartment on static IPs and a good link (and heavy duty IDS/IPS at the border for additional security), yes.

Wonderful!

Undo's working to move the infra to there, 4 vCPU, 4GB RAM, 250GB disk space, all on my VM cluster at home :)

2:51 PM
@thesecretmaster indeed. If you want to send me your pubkey feel free, I don't know if/when Undo will be continuing today, given that they've got timesucks all the time now.
(I'm in no better shape, full time Network Security admin and what not, but I get enough downtime at work to still remote in and fix things quickly, esp. with all my devices having remote access to my network)

I also need to disappear in about 5 mins, so now isn't the best time to set it up for me cuz I won't finish.

no problem :)
just making sure you weren't AWOL :)

@thesecretmaster This is mostly what Undo can say, but we didn't set a hard transition timeframe. Basically, to my knowledge, whenever MS is deployed and ready to go on the new infra will we start poking it more insistently to be 'online'. Infra should be good to go eternally though unless I need to reboot or do power lines again at my apartment heh
