@ArtOfCode Saw my comment on the GH issue?

not urgent, but good to have

So now we only need a way to periodically sync the weights from MS

12:46 AM
@iBug just gonna raise the point that AIM does weights already; query whether we need to use message space for it as well

that only takes up to 9 characters in the message (and 5 displayed) Also AIM refuses to work during MS downtime

[ SmokeDetector | MS ] Repeating characters in answer (83): ¿Cómo puedo cargar datos en los campos de un formulario en php? by user101183 on es.stackoverflow.com
naa by iBug

I also question if we need it, but the argument about MS downtime does have some weight. :-)

Also, it's good for mobile

What if we moved it to the end? Lemme edit one...

12:51 AM
@Makyen Yeah. When MS is down then there's no ned to know about feedbacks and autoflagging, but reason weight can still have some value (probably also time-to-deletion, but there isn't a good way to indicate that)
@ArtOfCode Potential AIM breakage?
I think it's better before the colon: aaa, bbb, +1 more (999): [title]

[ SmokeDetector | MS ] 61 Link at end of answer: Update to Safari 12.0 - Java Plug-in no longer listed by nonomori on stackoverflow.com

[ SmokeDetector | MS ] Repeating characters in answer (83): ¿Cómo puedo cargar datos en los campos de un formulario en php? by user101183 on es.stackoverflow.com

I also was thinking that the end, or just before the link would be better. Having it first, and in bold is a bit jarring. I'd also probably put it in parentheses, as has been edited.

12:53 AM
Also, if you stick it in brackets it doesn't need bold and thus takes fewer characters

@ArtOfCode Yeah, like that.

Looks certainly better, I like that too

CI on 0c3a3eb succeeded. Message contains 'autopull', pulling...

I kinda like Natty's bolding virtually everything...

12:57 AM
When this one becomes mature enough, we can probably drop reason weights off AIM
I haven't decided when to update the reason weights from MS, like the first reboot after 7 days?

@iBug AIM and FIRE work just fine on mobile.

@Makyen huh? Tampermonkey on mobile?

CI on 2ae390e failed.

@iBug I'd cache reason weights to disk so that they persist over restarts, and update them once every 24 hours just after MS does the update

@iBug Yes, tested in Tampermonkey, Greasemonkey, and Violentmonkey.

1:02 AM
@ArtOfCode Already cached :)

maybe cache reason weights and a next_update_time in a pickle somewhere, and when it restarts, check if we're past next_update_time and reload if so

CI on eb1e19e succeeded.

absolutely taken into account already and implemented well

metasmoke does the update at 0100Z

[ metasmoke ] ci/circleci: js failure on 71ab676: Your tests failed on CircleCI

1:04 AM
hmm, Smokey doesn't have scheduled jobs right now
Also, given how rarely they actually changes, I think 7d is fine

[ metasmoke ] ci/circleci: rails-tests failure on 71ab676: Your tests failed on CircleCI

@iBug I'd do it every 24h anyway, so that you pick up changes ASAP. Once every day isn't exactly resource-heavy :)

Given that it shouldn't be that much processing to fetch them, keeping them up to date doesn't sound like that big of a deal. I'd do it at least every 24h, or if you want to be more in sync, then every 8h or 4h. The shorter terms just limiting the maximum that you could be behind MS.

I'll try that later, might need some maths calculation before writing code
@Makyen MS itself updates once a day so there's no point being faster than that
Reason weights aren't calculated on-the-go, but done on a scheduled job and written back to the DB for next day's use.

@iBug You said that you aren't actually scheduling it for a certain time, just updating after some elapsed time. That means that the maximum that you can be behind is just shorter than that elapsed time. Thus, the shorter elapsed time results in a shorter maximum that you could be behind.

1:10 AM
Yes, I'm trying to implement the scheduled update.

Might be worth adding a command to force an update

I scheduled that to 1:15T every day, so there's 15 minutes for MS to breathe (cc @Makyen)

CI on e56ab78 succeeded.

Before MS has an available API, I can manually update that CSV "for the time being"

response is JSON; reasons in items array; each reason is an object, you want the weight property
[x['weight'] for x in requests.get(api_url).json()['items']] as a one-liner

It doesn't return all data, but a "has_more"

add a ?per_page=100
if we have more than 100 you'll need to get both pages

looks like good to go

1:51 AM
CI on 2e6b1bf succeeded.

Note: You may, or may not, need to adjust the value of any timeout that exists for the request with larger per_page values. For example, if you're getting posts, my experience is that the default timeout (30s) is insufficient for per_page=30, and very intermittently for per_page=20.

per_page=100
and only 2 pages now

[ SmokeDetector ] SmokeDetector started at rev a2a683a (𝐢𝐁𝐮𝐠 ♦: Use "autoflagged" to update reason weights) (running on teward/Solar Flare, Python 3.6.5)
Restart: API quota is 14091.

@SmokeDetector autoflagged

@iBug That's not a report.

1:57 AM
nvm, reason weight should be updated already

@Makyen reasons are small, though, so even with short timeouts it's okay
Getting posts is sort of a different story because there's so much data there

I still kinda like Natty's bolding, maybe we bold the reason weight (999)?
We rarely exceed the message length limit, except for vandalism with ridiculously long titles.

@ArtOfCode That's what I had assumed, but I figured that I should mention it, given that it is a possibility that might need to b dealt with.

@iBug nah, doesn't need it

@iBug At least the first versions I found the bolding to be jarring, rather than complementary.

OK, I keep it as-is

Do you really need the characters that extend up into other messages as part of your username?

4:45 AM
I have thought of these: a, b, blockquote, code, delete, div, em, h123456, i, img, kbd, li, ol, pre, s, strong, ul
@Makyen reworked
Any potential HTML tags I'm missing?

FIRE uses a regex equivalent to <(\/?([abpsu]|[hb]r|[uo]l|li|h\d|code|pre|strong|em|img).*?)> to whitelist tags.

ah, so mostly correct

yeah, it's <kbd>cool</kbd>
meh, no rendering here

4:54 AM
@iBug looks like: <br>, <hr>, <u>, <p> are missing, and that FIRE's regex may be a bit permissive. And now that you mention it, <kbd>. Looks like I'm going to need to go through the whole permitted list and double check.

@Makyen that's fine. I only enforced the first letter as an lazy but decent approach

anyway, I'm taking a noon nap
see ya

@iBug That was my impression on first looking at it, but I hadn't gone through it in detail, tag by tag.
@iBug Yeah, but I need to have it correct and more restrictive in FIRE, due to having to reconstruct the HTML from what SD does to it. Without a more restrictive list it's possible to mangle the post and/or permit inappropriate content.

@Shree The reasons "Potentially bad keyword in body" and "Potentially bad keyword in answer" mean that what you are trying to add is already watched. The reasons "Bad keyword in body" and "Bad keyword in answer" mean that what you are trying to add is already watched. Please don't force a new entry when that's the case, unless you really have checked out what's going on. Usually that would entail looking at the files and finding what exactly matched.
