Why does it say my feedback twice?

Hey all, due to multiple house repairs that are on going right now I'll be a little less available over the coming week. If you need me for something, expect a slower response time.

@ArtOfCode With regard to my report of an issue with /api/filters: While the error states it's "InvalidAuthenticityToken", it looks like it's really just checking the domain from which the request is made (in at least one of multiple possible ways). The following POST, without a key or token, works correctly from metasmoke.erwaysoftware.com, but not chat.stackexchange.com:
$.post('https://metasmoke.erwaysoftware.com/api/filters', {fields: ['reasons.id']}).done((result) => console.log('result:', result)).fail((fail) => {console.log('fail:', fail); $(document.documentElement).html(fail.responseText);});

@JohnMiliter Presumably, you sent the feedback twice on the same post, probably using two different methods. Both FIRE and FDSC should send fp-. Did you also use the MS review interface in addition to FIRE? The feedbacks which haven't been overwritten indicate that your tp- feedbacks are from FIRE, while your tp and fp feedbacks are "From Review". There's a separate issue of MS/SD considering the feedback with - as different from without -.

@Makyen ...which is a big lie, from when did "tpu- by Erik the Outgolfer" make sense? :P
> Erik sent me some tpu feedback and told me not to start describing it

@JohnMiliter In general, feedback, SD reports, SD responses, etc. are kept for a record in this room. While that might not be the case in other rooms (the room owners in any particular room will establish policy), please don't delete your own feedback, nor command SD to delete responses. There are some exceptional cases where having SD delete its responses is acceptable, but please observe the room for quite some time to get an idea when it's considered OK.

@EriktheOutgolfer ...and somebody just lit the fire

How did you predict that?

@EriktheOutgolfer Well, it's neither a command nor feedback to SD (it's was to MS via the API), so the - doesn't actually make that much sense when giving feedback through the MS API. The - just means that SD doesn't reply to the command or feedback. The message isn't actually a reply from SD to your feedback, so it did as requested. It's just MS using SD to make a record in chat of the feedback it received.

6:20 PM
@Makyen well, feedbacks should really be treated equally, no? that is, unless - has a different meaning when it comes to non-chat feedbacks (like, - if the API has been used, no - if from review)
I think the latter can't be true though
@EriktheOutgolfer ...and deleted the account afterwards...suspicious

@EriktheOutgolfer I don't really see - as having a different meaning when coming from non-chat. - means that SD doesn't reply to the command/feedback, unless there's an error. It didn't reply, so - has, effectively, the same meaning, even though it wasn't an actual SD chat command/feedback (thus - has no meaning in an MS API feedback). However, I can see how the semantic meaning of - might be interpreted to include "don't report the feedback in chat". But, those are two different things.

@Makyen Is there a GH issue for this? That sounds weird.

@ArtOfCode No, I haven't made a GH issue yet. It sounds like I should do so.

Aye, if you could chuck one up when you get the time that'd be useful so I don't forget about it

Sure, I'd be happy to.
