Cool, that's what I've done

It's at least more convenient that you don't have to run two export's when environment is rebooted.

do we have a GH issue to get rid of this pattern from the ignore list? because really we should

@tripleee nope, but a dirty fix is possible
s/except:/except Exception:/g

we don't want a dirty fix, we want our code to actually be understandable by mere humans
stacked exceptions are just as bad as goto spaghetti

yes, so that's another issue. feel free to open one
@tripleee At least except Exception doesn't catch KeyboardInterrupts and SystemExits.
which means whenever we hit Ctrl-C, it doesn't get absorbed in a bare except

8:30 AM
And now it decides to work

Restart: API quota is 19972.

the real issue though is that with all these blanket except handlers around functions which in turn have their own except handlers which in turn might call even more code with blanket except handlers there is no way to see which handler actually takes your exception and so it's not all that different from sprinkling your code with GOTO %RANDOM%

from a quick skim you might be able to do some simplifications with a CTE

For reference, my instance is running Python 3.6.5 (@Andy)

also IIRC the edit rep is capped at 2k, not 200

@Vogel612 +2 suggested edits factors into the +200 daily repcap, though

:bulb:

I think it's capped at 2k total, but I can't really account for that without some additional complexity that will make the entire thing time out

9:54 AM
I believe edit rep is caped at 1k total gained from editing, with the 2k rep number being what you need for full edit privileges.

@Makyen correct.

it's 1k rep for public design-less sites
the "rep" you get is from suggested edits, which you can only do if you are below the line
(+2 rep for each approved edit)
on private betas requirements are even lower (i.e. shockingly low)

@EriktheOutgolfer so that it is caught as a keyword as well

@NisseEngström The latter number, 2k for edit privileges, is on graduated sites. As has been mentioned, full edit privileges are at 1k rep for beta sites. But you can only gain 1k worth of rep for edits, total per site. Also as mentioned, you can only get edit rep for edits that have to go through the suggested edits review queue, so no edit rep for post edits after 2k total rep and none for tag edits at 20k total rep (graduated sites).
