The create user button should be mod-only

yeah, they dump the entire feed when they're first created

I'll add a few more, this is just an experiment anyway
if we populate it with 100+ domains we need something to manage it

I'm kinda scared by the idea of intentionally hitting spam sites, even if it's to pick up keywords from an RSS feed
If the spammers get paid by the number of page hits they get, then this could potentially be more incentive to spam us

Google Sites don't appear to have RSS/Atom feeds enabled
@NobodyNada OTOH the feed is not a "page" as such

@tripleee right, but we don't know how they track it

I don't think they get paid for visits, that would be too easy to abuse

@tripleee Good point

5:10 AM
Spammers DO get paid
but mostly for # of spam sent

A J
@iBug why else would they waste time creating and posting spams?

sent? IIRC the ex-spammer told us it was something along the lines of actual, measurable traffic to their site (though I could be wrong)

There are many "spam agencies" that offer spamming services.
Drug makers pay them to get their products spammed

Apr 3 at 11:26, by India
infact one get paid only when spam result in traffic or impression. thats why spammers are aggressive

with legit click advertising you might get paid for referrals (somebody visits the spammers blog and clicks through to the order form) but usually those too are conditioned on actually finishing a transaction (filling in the form on the final destination with valid information)

5:13 AM
My impression is that it's the "grunt workers," not the management of the spam agencies, that we're worried about

"worried" as in, they might be looking at their Apache logs with proper understanding of what they are seeing? or just "worried" that we are creating traffic to their site and that somebody somewhere is actually going to pay them anything like a good margin on what it costs to host that?

Workers get paid for # of spam posted

Different spam shops may be different, of course, but that ^ is what the ex-spammer told us

I know quite much about how spamming works in China, and I believe it's more or less the same in India

but traffic to their drive-through sites is only a cost, it doesn't bring them any benefit, the guy with the pocketbook looks for traffic through to the actual order form

@quartata That's not accurate. My ignore was to a MS report that was 3 reports prior, with lots of feedback between them. I've always seen it end up on the correct MS post. If it was just going on the post with the most recent feedback, I would have only rarely seen it on the correct post.
An interesting point previously mentioned. Both of the most recent examples occurred as the first chat interaction after a reboot. And so was the one which started the discussion today.

I think something about the original report isn't being remembered, then
