oh, it's the SO monetization feature for Amazon links, it's misleading but it's okay because they do that to Amazon links to get a small cut for referring a customer

Just change the test case to True.

but it's meant to not trigger, we will get a lot of false positives for Amazon links if the special case is now broken

Hi all! I have a small question about a python command
I'm not experienced to bear with me on this one :p
Err so
I have a function that uses the python command "yield"
I tried to print the values that i'd expect from the calculation using print but it says invalid syntax
The definition is
def jenkins_traub(coefficients, epsilon, max_iterations):
    """Find the roots of a polynomial using the Jenkins-Traub algorithm.
    Wrapper method for the Jenkins-Traub algorithm. Loops through the
    coefficients, finds a root, divides the coefficients by
    that smallest root to find a new set of coefficients, and then starts over.
    Returns a list of the roots.
    """
    # Remove leading coefficients equal to 0
    while len(coefficients) > 0 and coefficients[0] == 0:
        coefficients.pop(0)
As you can see it says yield at the bottom

Hi, @user55789 . Have you tried asking in the Python room?

10:41 AM
And I somehow can't use the regular "print jenkins_traub(...)"

Yes, with yield it acts like a generator, so you need to write print *jenkins_xxx(...)

@iBug Thanks for the tip, I have not but I need 20 rep to type there so I can't ask it
What does the star do?

The asterisk before the function call expands the generator.
Stack Overflow's main site is also a good place to ask.

Hmm It still says invalid syntax :p
But I'll try the main site yeah, cheers

I'm afraid I've forgot most of Python 2...
If you have from __future__ import print_function, then you can use print(*jen())

10:45 AM
No worries thanks for trying, I'll try stack overflo
Ah I think that's the one
This worked :D

You're welcome :)

not really that is indicative of a connection getting halted mid-action
SSL needs a specific length of a message in the communication. If it doesn't get that, it fails. Usually it's due to trying SSL on a non SSL port, or vice versa, or such.
