Why if you flag rude using FDSC does it list it as spam on FIRE instead of under rude? Or if you flag rude using FIRE it still marks it as spam but doesn't flag the actual post

For MetaSmoke, there's only tpu- as feedback for both, I think. Just the spam button in FIRE raises a spam flag whereas the rude button does not.

@JakeSymons there isn't any differentiation between spam and rude on metasmoke. FDSC will send the exact same feedback either way, and then FIRE will simply read it as spam.

Fire counts all tpu- feedbacks in the spam button

@quartata And how does that message get resolved? e.g. what's the expected action to take when you get that error?

Admins can clear feedbacks

So that message is really just for admins?

Not really?
I mean if someone just made a mistake they can remove their own feedback
But more importantly you need more people to see it for a consensus

Some context might be useful: I'm trying to build a conflicting feedbacks review queue, but I'm not sure what conditions should take it out of the queue.

1:16 PM
Yeah I gathered as much
I think an admin's feedback should be binding -- it clears all opposing feedback

@thesecretmaster tbh that already exists

Aside from that maybe just some configurable consensus threshold

@Magisch Based on #430

ahh

1:18 PM
@Magisch Sure, but that's not really a propper queue.

t'is'nt

@ArtOfCode Your review queue work is super sparkley and awesome and intuitive and pretty. Thank you for writing it!

@thesecretmaster :) cheers
Protip: you'll probably need to add a dequeue check in the feedbacks after create callback too

In feedbacks? Why? reviewable will be a Post.
Oh yes

Aye, cuz feedbacks is the thing that actually changes

1:29 PM
I did that, just didn't think about it as a dequeue check, more as an enqueue check.
But it'll also dequeue things if they don't need review anymore
Also, the logic seems very gemifiable, so I might try to do that after this queue.

Probably needs both - nq on after create, dq on update (for invalidation)

Actually, there was one thing that was kinda sketchy. I named my queue "Conflicting Feedbacks" when it wanted "conflicting-feedbacks". To save others from my blunder, I'm adding an create callback for ReviewQueue to downcase+hypen the name

Dunno if it's really worth gemifying
Won't do any harm, but doesn't seem like something other people are likely to use

Why are ruby addins called gems anyways

1:40 PM
@Magisch like ruby gems
A ruby is a pink to blood-red colored gemstone, a variety of the mineral corundum (aluminium oxide). Other varieties of gem-quality corundum are called sapphires. Ruby is one of the traditional cardinal gems, together with amethyst, sapphire, emerald, and diamond. The word ruby comes from ruber, Latin for red. The color of a ruby is due to the element chromium. The quality of a ruby is determined by its color, cut, and clarity, which, along with carat weight, affect its value. The brightest and most valuable shade of red called blood-red or pigeon blood, commands a large premium over other rubies...

There's been a little bit of debate in SOBotics about whether a post I reported (after consultation in the room) is spam or not. Any thoughts? metasmoke.erwaysoftware.com/post/121357

@WELZ That might be useful, but I prefer the actual replies which exist now. Using an actual reply shows the connection between the comment and report when either is hovered with the mouse pointer. If it's an sd command then each person needs to decode the sd command to figure out where the comment applies. An alternative would be to modify AIM to display comments upon hover. However, comments aren't sent via the WebSocket, so determining when they are added to a report isn't easy.

@StephenKennedy @PetterFriberg If it was posted by an unaffiliated user, it'd be at least NAA. However, the username makes it clear that there's association. The user's profile makes it explicit that there's affiliation. Thus, by the definitions SE uses, it's spam. Per the Feedback Guidance, it's a clear tpu. You could choose to give the user a break and not flag as spam, but, IMO, the answer is clearly promoting, not answering.

The same info is provided via the SE API if the flag has been just raised, raised & handled, or raised & retracted. Off the top of my head, the only places the info exists are at the time you flag, your flag history, or the post's flag dialog. Thus, it'd be difficult for two different userscripts, on pages in different domains, to track which you clicked.

@Makyen In SOBotics have other view on the affiliation issue, if it's clear that user (in user profile) is related to post it's kind of ridiculous to flag as spam since a post miss the word "my", you could simple edit it. Furthermore if link to blog that is related to question (hence not unsolicited which is definition of spam) the user must have been continuously posting link.
It's all about showing good faith if a link to blog or tool, the blog/tool is related to the question and it's clear from user profile that user is affiliated, a NAA flag with a comment is sufficient.
If you like to keep the answer an edit adding the word "me" is enough to add affiliation
cc @StephenKennedy
If you really like to flag, use a custom flag, coordinated "spam" flagging from chat rooms to nuke post on these kind of answers are according to me not correct.

@NobodyNada Not sure why that was even repaired (@ByteCommander) they are clearly very upset (very vocal and offensive about it) and it should've just got deleted.
