Q: Are users more likely to make mistakes with functionality which is easier to access?

GlorfindelWe're having a little discussion in the Teachers' Lounge (a site-wide chatroom for ♦ moderators). Sometimes, we need to destroy accounts (e.g. in the case of spammers). @ArtOfCode A bit of feedback: The stats and links feel out of place by wedging them between the top flagging stats and the bottom graphs. They also force a portion of the graphs off my screen (and I have a 1920x1200 monitor). Suggestions: Move the "links" to the bottom after the graphs. These feel like footer material. The "stats" should be moved below the current graphs. These are more global system stats and not something a user needs to see at a glance on a dashboard.
Since this is a dashboard, I'd like the timeframe reduced too. Dashboard, at least to me, implies something that is more immediate than 3 months
glares at smokey
The time to deletion one, if reduced to hourly over the last week would be more helpful than a 3 month rolling average. That information is in the graphs section and is more "historical reporting"
Instead of the 3 month reports graph, I suggest the reports by hour on from the graphs page. It's more immediate

glares again
The "stats" section could be replaced with the graph at the bottom of the "flagging" page.
So, in my mind, the dashboard looks like this: Top cells about flagging that exist, reports by hour graph, an hourly over the past week time to deletion, graph from bottom of flagging page, global stats, links
Definitely agree in reference to the time frame. Dashboard says 'immediate information'. I'd even say 1 rolling month with the option to adjust the length of time displayed.
> Dashboard says 'immediate information'
at least to me anyway..

tpu- by Glorfindel
@Henders if you think the user could be a spammer in the future, then it's good to have some history on them. I'd consider doing this for a new user; if it's an established user trying to gain some easy rep, I'd just comment and mod flag.
If you decide to !!/report, please post an additional message here saying that it's plagiarism. Otherwise we might assume a copy paste error.

@Andy I'm doing this, but one problem: an hourly over the past week TTD graph is actually very unhelpful:
Not enough samples in an hour to create a useful average
That seems useful to me. You can see a couple spikes (for example, what happened the morning of the 25th?)
Actually, I like that one a lot. You can see the occassional blips, but that big spike is really obvious.
It's a lot like the Github status page (look at exception percentage): status.github.com/graphs/past_day
Most of the day it's flat, but you can see that something happened a few hours ago
18:44
@Andy I can make a pretty good guess - I'd say it's a single-post outlier
Eh. Still...at 3000 seconds, that's probably good to be able to see
There are far worse outliers - we just don't show them, because we filter out anything over an hour
[ metasmoke ] ci/circleci success on 04dde91: Your tests passed on CircleCI!
That's understandable. I do that in my graphs too. If it lasts over that, it's probably not "that bad". But, that shorter term graph still seems more useful to me. In the pop-over can you put the number of samples in that data point?
or is it restricted to a single value?
Yep. 77796, TTD ~3600 seconds; no other posts in that hour with recorded deletion times.
@Andy Um. Probably not, or at least not without significant hax
18:50
heh. just missed the hour cut off
Oh, wait, I lie. TTD 3087.
How does a daily TTD over the last 1 month suit you, @Andy?
Ooo that's nice
My issue with daily, is that is is so varied based on time of day. There are spam waves and there are times when people coverage is lower. Both of those are going to mess with that average
I like that layout a lot better :)
We could have monthly average if you prefer... /s
If we're going less granular, let's just go for decade average. ;)
@ArtOfCode You know what, looking at that dashboard, I think I'll withdraw my complaint about monthly right now. That way it's laid out, I'd like to use it for a while to see if it's good enough
Fine by me :) In that case, good to deploy, @Undo
Also, @NobodyNada, the graphs in this version are cached
One potential feature request though...can we have a way for someone (admins) to annotate the graph? For example...what happened on July 9th? Was it just because it was a Sunday? Or did something else happen? Having that information on the chart may be useful
...which probably means I should build a dev cache-nuke tool
@Andy Chuck me a GH issue on that. Definitely possible, but requires thought.
Can do
