no, but they need to be in config somewhere

I have a separate unencrypted config for that
Anyways, this should make it so that it'll try to read the credentials from the store and if any it needs are missing it'll prompt for them (with getpass).
That way you can choose what you want to store on disk.
You can force it to require the optional credentials with a command line flag

Yup, I was pointing out bcoz of your comment on the answer - totally agree with the nuking

@quartata Not to discourage you, but just so you're aware: Smokey's had 3-4 years of reliability tuning. A newer version with all the annoyances of the existing thing fixed would be awesome, but it's going to need a lot of work to make sure it's up to the same standard before it's production-ready. Expect a timescale of months at least.

@quartata A thought: You might consider keeping findspam largely intact, at least at first. I know it's a pain point, but touching it means an order of magnitude more scrutiny since that's what feeds autoflagging

@ArtOfCode Oh, absolutely.
When I say "actually does something" I mean starts and posts a startup message.
I haven't touched scanning questions yet. I'm just designing things and stubs mostly.

Gahh, the version of libgit2 in the Ubuntu repos is too old...

@quartata it would also be pretty awesome if this would work cross-platform, rather than just UNIX/Linux

It does, in theory.
I mean, you have to build libgit2 which is kind of unfun...
But it isn't like sh where it's using the shell

that's... not what I would call cross-platform...
All our hosts can probably do that, but not all of our devs may be able to

I haven't been able to find anything that didn't rely on either the shell or libgit2 sadly
libgit2 does work on Windows though. You just have to build it because they don't provide binaries for any platform...

@ArtOfCode wrt dynamic queue sizes -- that would be based on observed posts per <desired time unit> right

@quartata ratio of true positives to observed posts
otherwise SO would always have the smallest queue, when it should probably be Apple

Ah yes

so it's a combination of what you get from running queue_timings.py and some metasmoke report stats

Hmmm

6:46 PM
@quartata For now, focus on just getting it to "do something", throw that on GitHub, we can all work on the details like dynamic queues

Are we going to put our doubled API quota to use?

It would make sense if I at least did a reference implementation for it, since I'm already familiar with both the queue timings bits and the data manipulation to get the mod factors you need.

It's possible to manually report something on a meta site, but it wouldn't ever reach the threshold anyway

@Randal'Thor Or see if there's a new general pattern. Do you have any examples of some of those?
(/ have you been manually reporting most of them?)

@JasonC Can you not search for Puzzling posts in Smokey history? I think most of the ones it didn't catch automatically have been manually reported, either by me or Mithrandir.

@Randal'Thor A lot of it is probably because we weren't scanning answers for a week or so

@Randal'Thor I see most of them (being quite active here, as well as reviewing on Puzzling SE). I haven't been able to detect a pattern (yet).

Or I can go through my spam-flag history and give you a list of spammed URLs, if that helps.
