@Magisch I'm not sure if ASCII penises are abusive. They might be a bit offensive for some, I just see it as random garbage and tagged it NAA as well.

@Oldskool random garbage from 1 rep users is abusive
At least it can be reasonably flagged and handled as abusive

That depends on how you interpret the content. If you want to see penises in it, I guess you will. I just see it as a bunch of random characters. Might've as well said "<----===>", makes little difference to me personally. But I guess it is somewhat suggestive and could be seen as abusive by most.

I personally don't find penis' offensive. I'm quite fond of them in fact.

@JamesENL LOL :D
That's what makes cases like this a bit harder to review. It all depends on if you find it's content offensive/inappropriate. And that level is different for everyone.
But I guess we can all agree it should be removed either way.

Certainly not appropriate for SE

@Magisch sup

@ArtOfCode You inspired me to write a little c program

So I heard. I calculated it with some JS

@ArtOfCode I think the contention / inequality between you and the other commenter comes from if you assume that new earned flags (1 per 10) are available immediately or just the next day.

It's immediate, which is what I was assuming
or maybe I wasn't
shrug

@ArtOfCode ideone.com/N1np7p is spitting out a different number then yours, may I see your JS that you used?
interested to know if my code is faulty

11:00 AM
@Magisch you're calculating both comment and post flags, I only calculated comments
function maxFlags(days) {
  var cnt = 0;
  for (var i = 0; i < days; i++) {
    console.log("cnt: ", cnt, "bonus: ", Math.floor(cnt / 10), "day: ", i, "flags: ", Math.min(10 + Math.floor(cnt / 10), 100));
    cnt += Math.min(10 + Math.floor(cnt / 10), 100);
  }
  return cnt;
}

even dividing that by 2
@ArtOfCode I have no clue what that does

I'm not sure how yours does it, but it looks like it's applying the same method to both comment and post flags? Post flags increase according to a slightly different algorithm that also factors rep in.
cnt:  0 bonus:  0 day:  0 flags:  10
VM124:4 cnt:  10 bonus:  1 day:  1 flags:  11
VM124:4 cnt:  21 bonus:  2 day:  2 flags:  12
VM124:4 cnt:  33 bonus:  3 day:  3 flags:  13
VM124:4 cnt:  46 bonus:  4 day:  4 flags:  14
VM124:4 cnt:  60 bonus:  6 day:  5 flags:  16
VM124:4 cnt:  76 bonus:  7 day:  6 flags:  17
VM124:4 cnt:  93 bonus:  9 day:  7 flags:  19
VM124:4 cnt:  112 bonus:  11 day:  8 flags:  21
VM124:4 cnt:  133 bonus:  13 day:  9 flags:  23
VM124:4 cnt:  156 bonus:  15 day:  10 flags:  25

@ArtOfCode Mine starts with 10 daily flags, assumes all flags are helpful and every 10 flags, it assumes that you get 1 extra flag and then assumes you use it and its helpful, so it adds it to your daily flag count
So essentially it assumes that if you had 30 available flags at the start of a day, you'll flag the 30 and they'll be helpful, and then you flag the extra 3 and they'll be helpful

@Magisch day: 22 flagged: 84 flagged: 8 total: 840

relevant part of my code

I'm not seeing it
@Magisch would help if you named variables properly ;)
function maxFlags(days) {
	var totalFlagged = 0;
	var baseFlags = 10;
	for (var i = 0; i < days; i++) {
		var flagsToday = Math.min(baseFlags + Math.floor(totalFlagged / 10), 100);
		var bonusToday = Math.floor(flagsToday / 10);
		var maxBonus = 100 - flagsToday;
		totalFlagged += flagsToday + Math.min(bonusToday, maxBonus);
		console.log("day: ", i + 1, "flagged: ", flagsToday, "flagged: ", Math.min(bonusToday, maxBonus), "total: ", totalFlagged);
	}
	return totalFlagged;
}

from your day 22 they have 840 total flags and on day 23 940 so they flagged 100
nflags = number of total flags so far
dflags = available daily flags
dCounter = counter to the time you next get an extra flag

@Magisch sort of... they have 94 flags available at the start of day 23, from which they would get an extra 9 bonus flags - but it can't go over 100, so they flag 6 bonus to hit 100.
The 100 gets hit on day 23, not 22.

rFlags = total flags before the dCounter calculation, used in lieu of dFlags to increment the counter, so that flags cast as a result of bonus flags gained that day also increase the counter

Q: Spam posts by bots and dealing with them

Иво НедевThis url ("Ways Create Muscle Fast - Quick Tips To Put On Muscle" in gaming.se ...) might work for the higher tier users, but should be deleted by the time this question goes live. Many such "questions" are posted by bots daily all over stackExchange. And they don't seem to be slowing down. Eve...

But whose is correct now

@Magisch not a clue
I'm tempted to say mine, just because the logic is simpler and less prone to bugs

@ArtOfCode What is the logic flow in yours, actually?
I'm tempted to post mine to code review, just to see how bad it is

11:38 AM
for (var i = 0; i < days; i++) {
		var flagsToday = Math.min(baseFlags + Math.floor(totalFlagged / 10), 100);
		var bonusToday = Math.floor(flagsToday / 10);
		var maxBonus = 100 - flagsToday;
		totalFlagged += flagsToday + Math.min(bonusToday, maxBonus);
		console.log("day: ", i + 1, "flagged: ", flagsToday, "flagged: ", Math.min(bonusToday, maxBonus), "total: ", totalFlagged);
	}
for each day:
calculate available flags, which is the basic 10, plus an extra for every 10 of your current running total, with a maximum of 100
find out how many extra flags that got you (one per 10, again)
find out how many of those extra you can actually use (i.e. how many before you hit 100 and can't flag any more)
increment total counter by the available flags, plus the available bonus flags
repeat

yeah mine is a little different
for each day:
increment total flags (starting 0) by available daily flags;
increment BonusCountdown by totalflagstoday - totalflagsyesterday
for every 10 in bonus countdown, increase dailyflags by 1 and totalflags by 1, and decrease bonus countdown by 10
print everything

that sounds right, but I think it's still gonna be more prone to bugs

I stopped identifying people here by their names, a lot of them change too often for that.
I do it by suspension histories now, which don't ever disappear.

6:04 PM
OH CRAP
Well, at least I don't have a main site suspension

@ArtOfCode They do change, though :P

@undo they can be added to, yeah, but existing stuff doesn't go away
So I've just worked out what all our regulars have been dinged for already

So I should try to get suspended again.
It helps for anonness.

@ArtOfCode I'll keep my name for you. How's that sound?

@Andy Heh, I might work you out :)
