What does @SmokeDetector k do?

@John It gives feedback to smokedetector that the post was indeed spam, and we track that data in a database so we can update our detections to include better spam finding patterns

Do you have to have SmokeDetector privileges for it to do anything?

@John Not for everything, I recommend you check out the command page for the exact commands that require this

Does @SmokeDetector k require privileges?

yes

10:08 PM
Where do I go to request these privileges?

here, kinda

kinda?

CC @Undo

So, basically, you ask undo for them
Am I right?

There's a few users that are in charge of that, Undo is one of them

10:10 PM
Who are the others? (Sorry for too many questions)

Whatcha need?

I was wondering how to get sd privileges (I don't need them yet, but soon I might want them)

You ping someone who can give them to you
That said, you've got a higher burden of proof that you'll be sane than most folks do
(1) I haven't seen you around before, (2) you're not terribly active across the network (but I can overlook that, you have a few active accounts), and (3) this is not encouraging:
So... yeah. If you can explain what was happening there (giving you the benefit of the doubt here because c.mSE is the only place I can't see deleted chat messages), and promise not to generate items in my inbox about your behavior, I'd be fine with it.

I don't want privileges yet (don't get me wrong) but I was !!/blame-ing a hundred million times to see if SmokeDetector would blame himself (until someone proved that he wouldn't)

10:26 PM
is it really useful ?

The amount of damage you can theoretically do is minimal and reversible, so we tend to go with an assume-sane model

I mean if there is already an answer, is it useful to send 10 times the same ?

@Undo Assuming you daily backup the blacklisted users, yes, remember that certain command that truncates the blacklist?

@Ferrybig wait, do you own this room?

Ok. I don't consider myself experienced enough to train our friend anyway ^^

10:29 PM
people with italic names own the room

Do negative votes + vtc as duplicate => delete ?

@QPaysTaxes Which we probably shouldn't have. Just a sec.

pending ci

@undo are there statistics for time between being blacklisted and the next post of the user? We could use those statistics to measure the effectiveness of the blacklisted users over time

10:36 PM
Not really
Might be able to kledge something together, but it won't be perfect
!!/pull

[ SmokeDetector ] SmokeDetector started at rev 93e1fd5 (Undo1: rm clearblu) (running on Raspberry Pi)
Restart: API quota is 9819.

We have the post that caused the user to be put on the blacklist in the why reason, so we could use that to calculate it. Would give a hit on metasmoke however...
Without unit tests that verify the removal of the command, I wouldn't thrust trust it without a backup

11:00 PM
@QPaysTaxes is there really a need for you to test it?
Then don't

11:12 PM
you can always make one
sandbox, I guess

Sandbox

close but no cigar
all three chat domains have it, it's just usually buried

I used search to find it
