This post was precipitated by a report that came to my attention from the Smoke Detector in Charcoal HQ which is a bot that, I am grateful, alerts users to possible spam and abusive posts on the site.

I'm not really sure how any sort of automatic system could pick that up though. I could probably take every word in that post and rearrange to be a half-decent question.
@Yvette To be honest it's such an edge case I'm not sure on, if someone couldn't post a particular case they'd just end up posting intercourse instead or se-x or whatever. It's like all the spam, I don't think there's a good technical solution.
A friend of mine got abused by her father. They brought in agressive lawyers at the trial and she backed down on the report due to social stress. Then she killed herself, at age 17
Thats part of why this stuff freaks me out this hard
I've seen a similar case with cyber bullies. Friend of mine was severely bullied online when she was 14. She was okay until they started calling her family and spreading the rumours to them.
I will tell you what I tell my kids, there is a lot of bad things, but it's also important to look for the good. Sometimes the best things in life can be what are seemingly the most unremarkable
@ArtOfCode Are we going to remove the entry from the database, or replace the contents with a warning banner that it has been altered pointing to the chat (Yes I have seen it...)

Metasmoke is a different story, but you're aggregating content that isn't yours necessarily, so it'd probably be up to the content provider to report infractions of local law
BTW I remember I wanted to welcome @sandwich to Charcoal a while ago. It would be nice if you give some warning before changing username and profile pic. A cough would do.

My doubt is , if they are immiscible , they would form separate layers , and pressure due to the lower layer would be zero .

Huh - fair enough. I'm only really familiar with moderation on SO - don't really venture out much beyond that other than to flag. While a flag ban on a site I don't actively use won't lose me any sleep, I don't want to add extra work for mods on those sites.
