meeh I have decided to not report anything, since I'm working with the NatoBot, that is not a spam bot, but I still like to help you guys to feed your bot.

I'd be happy to give them to you here if you like. You've brought up quite a few spam posts before, and it would probably be a lot better for you if you were able to report them yourself.

10:09 AM
So I pass here what we find and Charcoal makes decision with your experience.

We like to keep a very low profile for NatoBot know, hence moderators are always involved in what it reports (NAA and VLQ flag) and if spam we involve this chat room, I hope you do not mind

The power of giving an API to the users of your community-driven website: within 10 seconds of posting, a spam post already has 3 flags on it.
@PetterFriberg that's fine. Of course, if you reconsider, just ask :)

10:15 AM
Thanks, just for the record I have privs both here and in SOCVR

Oh cool, didn't know that.

Since the NatoBot is new, its just to avoid any troubles, hence blame Charcoal :D
we always like that there is a second eye on the posts

Well, when one of our admins is on the SO mod team we can sorta get away with more trouble than smaller projects

@DavidPostill agreed

@tripleee well, usually 'hand-blacklisted' users are done by filters (like the one above - username was blacklisted rather thant user), whereas the tpu- blacklists are per-user and are not carried between Smokey hosts (whereas usernames are). You can tell which it is by the reason - Blacklisted user for tpu- etc, Blacklisted username/keyword/website if it was hand-blacklisted
Of course, you can blacklist a user manually, but that is pretty rare

The !addblu command would count as manual

11:26 AM

On an unrelated note, I think this line from smokey really demonstrates how fluent python can be: if site in sites and reason not in specialroom["unwantedReasons"]:. It reads like english.

which regex flavor does Metasmoke use? I can't seem to use \b or \<...\>

Did you mean \\b?
No need to escape < or >

in ERE, \< is a left word boundary, which is \b in Perl and derivatives (Python, and, as far as I understand, Ruby)
the \b is orientation-independent, so \<word\> in egrep is \bword\b in PCRE
you can fake it with something like (^|[^A-Za-z0-9])word($|[^A-Za-z0-9]) of course
attempting (?:and) gets me a massive MySQL error so I guess it's whatever MySQL supports, which I'm guessing is rather basic and crude
