I just finished watching Shadow & Bone season 2. Very enjoyable. I watched S1, loved the Crows, found out they're from a spinoff book series, so read those (still haven't read the original trilogy). Kind of disappointed that they didn't do a more accurate adaptation of those books... but on the other hand, I get to see these characters in new adventures!
Sounds like the main plot of Six of Crows will be a big part of season 3. Interested to see how well they adapt it.

@Glazius Aha, yeah, the spirit wardens who round up the spirits (sooner rather than later) ... whom we have not yet met. So I guess we'll meet them soon. We did a couple of jobs for the Dimmer Sisters, but I am not sure they are allies so much as neutral.
the clock was on my character sheet, I filled it in each time I used one.

The Sisters are spirit traders, they and the Wardens have bad blood. So maybe you get a heads-up from them or they offer a way around whatever the Wardens are doing to mess you up.
(at least if they're acting out their standard roles from the book's faction writeup)

@Glazius We are mostly sticking with the base fiction, so far, as regards other factions, but the GM has been ticking a few "off screen" clocks ... looks like the greycloaks are now more settled into six towers. I suspect we'll try to work a deal or do a favor for Spirit wardens related to our next job...there's a ghost we met that I think they'd be interested in ... hmm, thanks, you gave me some good ideas.
@Adeptus Oh, yeah, I need to start on season 2, I think we saw the season 1 finale and I had forgotten 2 was released.

Q: How can you get AnyDice to add a flat value to a roll while calculating the "drop lowest" appropriately?

DorianI'm trying to calculate the values for 4d4 drop lowest 1 and add 6. ABILITIES: 6 d [highest 3 of 4d{1..4}+6] loop P over {1..6} { output P @ ABILITIES named "Ability [P]" } Seems to output the exact same as ABILITIES: 6 d [highest 4 of 4d{1..4}+6] loop P over {1..6} { output P @ ABILITIES named "

Q: Are these four "special weapon properties" roughly similar in power?

Benjamin T HallAssume you have multiple weapons such as the glaive, halberd, and pike that are (in stock 5e) identical other than name (and possibly damage type, but that rarely matters and can be ignored for this question). Give each of them a different one of these four properties. Accurate: Add a +1 modifie...

Q: How to make the exploration loop more interesting (exploring rooms etc.)?

AnoESituation One issue that I have experienced very often in the past, both as a player and a DM, with beginners and experienced people, is this phenomenon: The party enters a dungeon or building, and starts exploring the rooms. Each time they enter a room, a more or less standard ritual plays out:...

Q: How can a DM communicate to the players that subtlety is needed in a mystery adventure?

FerventHippoI am a beginner DM and also a player. In our current adventure (Rise of Tiamat), where I am a player, we are tracking some shady individual (Mr. X) involved with a cult. We recently entered a tavern, and my party comrades starting asking everyone "have you seen Mr. X lately?" and "what about the ...

@KorvinStarmast I assume they've already approved a 3rd season, because the last episode of S2 was half tying up plot threads, and the other half introducing a bunch of new ones.
