@BESW I like this one

user15026
Y'all are very silly.

Apr 13 '18 at 7:58, by BESW
room topic changed to RPG General Chat: Main chat room for tabletop role-playing games [birds-apparently] [dice] [jeff] [pen-and-paper] [roleplaying] [rpg]

@BESW D&D should really be an ever-expanding acronym with different monsters. D&D stands for "D&D & Dracolichs" which stands for "D&D & Dopplegangers & Dracoliches" which stands for "D&D & Djinni & Dopplegangers & Dracoliches".

@Ash Have you not noticed until now?

user15026
11:05 PM
@Someone_Evil I had some small inkling but y'all like proving it :)

@Yuuki D<sup>D</sup>

@Ash Pretty much every campaign I've played eventually devolved into a comedy bit so I feel like it's something innate.
I mean, I start off all serious and brooding about how my dwarf was sent to the gladiator pits and had to kill to survive and now vows to never harm another being. Couple sessions down the road, he's a magical girl befriending his enemies with overwhelming divine firepower.
Nonlethal, of course.

user15026
I tend to struggle with taking things super seriously.

user15026
I like that my current gaming group tends to share my penchant for the ridiculous

@Yuuki

11:13 PM
@Someone_Evil What if you play a hurdy-gurdy at them

@Ash Things are innately ridiculous when you use "befriend" interchangeably with "beat the living bajeezus out of".
Or rather when you do and that's how you somehow manage to gain allies.

"Dear diary, I befriended the nicest girl at school"

@Yuuki I mean I made a friend by doing that IRL once soooo

@NeutralTax I mean, that's literally how a lot of anime/manga goes.
Your ally in this current arc was the bad guy you "befriended" in the previous arc.

@Ash i have no idea what you are talking about, i am always serious, at all times
XD

11:17 PM
omg @trogdor I'm a huge fan.
uh burninated any countrysides lately?

Weirdly it's been a long time since anyone has made a joke about that
:P

My dnd character is named trognar

Lol

user15026
@trogdor Oh yes. so much serious. utmost serious is trogdor. yes.

I'm glad we clarified this point

user15026
11:21 PM
Indeed. makes their most serious face

[so-thats-how-you-do-that]
ah crap

[tag:silliness]

user15026
@V2Blast hahaha that one took me a second.

11:23 PM
:D
@NeutralTax it actually does link to what it assumes is a mainsite tag, so you can use this to link to actual tags from chat. for tags on Meta, use the format [meta-tag:serious-business]

what about tags from other se's

I don't think that's possible to link except manually

Q: Reference tag of any site in chat

MoosemanRight now, in chat, we can use [tag:tagname] and [meta-tag:tagname]. But in MSE chat, I think it would be useful to reference a tag on any site through this format. For example: [tag-stackoverflow.com:tagname] or [tag-meta.stackexchange.com:tagname] Is this possible reasonably doable? Since...

You can use [meta-tag: to link to the meta stack of the stack the chat is associated with, but that's as far as it goes.

Today's neat RPG find - Mint and Minotaur by Momatoes - a one page, free to download RPG and all you need to play is a single coin. Easily accessible adventure times!

user15026
(awww yeah I am finally remembering the link markdown consistently.)

You can, however, link to other stacks with [sitename.se], like so: Worldbuilding

I'm just disappointed that it wasn't "mint and mint-otaur"

And it one-boxes if you put the link in its own message:
@Ash Yey! It looks like a good little game.

user15026
@BESW I like that 4 heads isn't like OMG MAGIC PERFECT SUCCESS, it's "you were TOO MUCH GOOD."

11:38 PM
Lol

@BESW oooooooh. I never knew that
@Ash you assume I'm coordinated enough to flip a coin and not have it land on the other side of the room
> Published 51 minutes ago
an impressively quick find :D

user15026
@V2Blast Hey, as long as you can find it again to know what side is up!

@Ash That's asking a lot of me. :P

user15026
@V2Blast myself, too, honestly

Getting up out of my chair is overrated
XD

11:47 PM
Same
on a totally unrelated note
...never mind, I figured it out

Lol

I came across the tag and wanted to improve the tag excerpt/wiki. In the process of editing and looking stuff up, I found that some sources credited it to a different name, even though the game is currently credited on the Buried Without Ceremony website to Avery Alder
it then occurred to me that they might be trans and that the other name was one they previously went by... and I was right

Oh

(It was specifically mentioned in the Monsterhearts 2 Kickstarter's FAQ: kickstarter.com/projects/averyalder/monsterhearts-2/faqs)

She is, and very beloved in the trans tabletop community. Not least because she made a super beloved game that is pretty much all about queer exploration.

I've heard of Monsterhearts but knew basically nothing about it besides the name

@doppelgreener oh yeah, i remember you talking about the game before

You play as teenage monsters in high school. I'm talking actual werewolves, witches, vampires, ghouls, all that. The rest of the high school is normal kids, probably, and you're just working your way through your messy teenage life.

11:52 PM
and I've come across the name Avery Alder before in passing but there's no context in my brain for her(?) name

@doppelgreener wait not everyone in the school is some kind of monster teen?

(in the process of trying to double-check her pronouns, I found this amusing tweet: twitter.com/lackingceremony/status/854548777532661762)

I was not aware of that part

@trogdor I don't think so.

Huh ok

11:54 PM
hey there @NeutralTax, welcome to the RPG.SE lair :)

Strangely that makes a lot of sense for a game exploring the themes it has

user15026
@V2Blast Feels.

Ben
Morning all
Quick question for the room, anyone played the 5e adventure LMoP?

I have (as a player)

Ooh, the dramatic saga Last Muffin of Picnic!
