> if Alex is posting a question, display a warning on the side: "Alex, it looks like you're trying to ask a question, which based on your question history will most likely be twisted, and cause brain knots to some other users. Are you willing to live with that on your conscience?"

considering the situation and our reputation, I don't think we're in a position to tell someone saying "x is offensive" that they're wrong and should stop being offended

Problem is, fiction is based on the real world, so "council" from fantasy comes from medieval courts, "bridge crew" from sci-fi comes from the navy, and even the "league of ..." comes from the League of Nations.

ID questions with very few details might be uniquely identifiable enough to be answerable and not closeworthy (sometimes not even that), but that doesn't make them good questions.

@ibid There are 38526 images on the site accoridng to SEDE. 19186 of those have "enter image description here", while another 723 are blank. That means that a slight minority has custom alt text. (Query link.)

I still think Python is a stupid language, but now I really understand how stupid it is as I have to work in it.

Here's the complete list but some of the more helpful ones when doing FPs/LAs are [edit], [tour], [ask], [answer], [chat] and these two would have helped in your recent comment [help/on-topic] and [help/dont-ask].

@FuzzyBoots This may be a sign that you've been spending too much time here...

I just woke up from the weirdest dream, where I had been browsing my updates on the stack exchange, and had someone who was fixing edits that I had made to their post, something about a curse at a hexamil. I was trying in vain to read their angry rant, posted as an answer on their question, when I awoke.

Oh, I've done the 3 years thing too. That one still hurts.

A question like "does garlic harm vampires in Twilight?" or "does garlic harm vampires in Vampirates?" is completely objectively answerable, pretty boring to anyone except a fan of that specific franchise, and doesn't require any expertise except knowing how/where to search all the canon of that franchise.

@DavidW No, "good subjective" doesn't depend on the amount of research done in the question - it's more about the type of answers the question invites. The term was defined by SE many years ago and it's still in the help centre on every site.

@b_jonas Not a question here, it falls afoul of the "list or recommendation" close reason.

The heroes seem to be gaining the upper hand until Darth Juul manages to flip the switch on the car wash control panel from 'REGULAR' to 'PREMIUM.'

@JourneymanGeek not necessarily "get out of rep", although that is part of my motivation, but more of a way to say "this is not my answer, I'm just writing it down for posterity."

I try very hard to optimise for "OOH I KNOW THIS AND EVERYONE ELSE NEEDS TO TOO"

(My own, hopefully informed, opinion) The primary purpose of answering is to answer the question, having it accepted shouldn't be the primary goal. It's a good measure that you've answered, but shouldn't be a target in itself

@LogicDictates I’ve not read the whole discussion but from my personal stand point I’m not a fan of posting them on answers as soon as the answer is posted. On the question is fine or in response to a confirmation comment but on an answer always looks to me like “accept my answer” even though I know that’s not the intent

@AncientSwordRage Now I want someone to write an answer that implements addition in Javascript in terms of von Neumann ordinals. :)

On the recommendation of @AncientSwordRage I'm posing a question I asked in a different chatroom: "Which fantastical horse do you wish was real?"

@b_jonas We could delete the question since it's pointless now...

@MattE.Эллен The gold standard is Sherlock, you produce 3 episode seasons once every 5 years. How they come up with so much original content is a mystery.
