@CharlieBrumbaugh Hi Charlie - I apologise on behalf of the mod group if it feels like "nothing happens" - things do happen, but not necessarily for public consumption. And tallies of bad behaviour do add up to suspensions of increasing length, so flagging really helps us with that.

We have been having discussions over that user's behavior for years now, is it really worth the trouble they cause?

@CharlieBrumbaugh it's an easy thing to do, that doesn't take anything away, and can help gain acceptance with a slightly wider audience.

If there was anything that bothers me, then it is the poverty among Native Americans living in the Navajo Nation. A lot of people standing along the road with tables or pick-up trucks selling handmade jewelry. Even if I was interested in buying some, I wouldn't stop 50 times...

Agreed. I would keep it civil irrespective of what I get from others. A choice :)

I'm a woman who is not offended by words like chairman that have a -man in them. I'd rather be called a chairman than a chair -- I really object to being called a piece of furniture. Anyway, feminine words and phrases like aviatrix or actress or female mathematician are falling out of favor, and a good thing1

A: Where are sudo's insults stored?

WinEunuuchs2UnixList of all Insults When we look at all the insults we discover an interesting tidbit: saying Broccoli is politically correct, but saying Burrito is not. All the insults are listed below. ins_2001.h (2001 Space Odyssey insults): . /* * HAL insults (paraphrased) from 2001. */ ...

With the pics from animatedknots.com it's actually not even the usual gray area, there is a copyright notice on that page and by reproducing the pics on SE, it gets published under some CC license (don't remember which one), which is definitely not compatible.

My opinion: @Olin go for it, do seed your topic. If this turns into a competition between "TGO fractions", we might soon be at 20questions/day :P

@StrongBad True, it can have not opinion-based answers, it is just extremely unlikely. This is illustrated by two answers (one for our standards highly upvoted) which are just opinions. A question that can have an objective answer, but it is just really unlikely anyone has the information for it, unfortunately becomes opinion based. In a perfect world the answer would remain open and opinion based answers downvoted...

Thanks @Liam - sorted. I was also a bit upset at that unwelcoming comment from one of our folks. Thanks to you, @ab2 and @Sue for actually being welcoming.

Seriously though, I feel like this site gets a disproportionate number of questions about bears compared to the frequency of encountering them.
