Q: word for six-month period

AnnedyIn English, we have 7 days >> a week 14/15 days >> a fortnight Is there any word for six months? The closest I've got is the word semester. Example of what I'm looking for: once a fortnight.... once a week.... once a semester..... Over a semester later.....

Dupe.

I think ^is another reason to learn Swedish, have not read him yet.

Proselytizer.

what does it mean? Clearly > $5

I'm not nagging, I just ask the same thing many times.
Learning Swedish would be really dumb, it would be beautiful.

11:11 AM
Just saw Mad Max: Fury Road yesterday.

< meh?

No, it was actually quite good.
Surprised the hell out of me.

surprises me that it surprised you

Did you see it?

nope, I watch only a handful of movies per year.
Most completely random, if gf starts to watch something and I happen to not be busy coding for example.
Adding it to the list.

11:14 AM
When are you ever not busy coding?

GF says I talk about code when I sleep so dunno what to answer really.

I guess "never" would be an appropriate response.
@MattE.Эллен, @AndrewLeach: Dupe, red in tooth and claw.

~never then

Did you complete your front-end project yet?

the web thing?
No abandoned it.

Slacker.

@JohanLarsson How'm I gonna learn Swedish if you can't be bothered to learn JavaScript, a far easier language?

hmm
Swedish does not have null.

I have a toilet question.

yes, you can go

Don't keep it bottled up.

:)
It leaks a bit from the floor bolt.

What's a floor bolt?

2:12 PM
You need a new seal

the marshmallows at the bottom

@Mr.ShinyandNew安宇 thanks!

Glad to help

I don't know. It comes straight out of the marshmallow.
Apparently there are gaskets in there.

2:13 PM
Right. I have a feeling either we have different names for things, or we're not talking the same language at all.

when you take the toilet off the floor, there's usually some kind of seal that connects the base of the toilet to the pipe in the floor.

Yeah.
The wax ring thing.

yeah
though my GIS for "toilet seal" just showed me that there are non-wax ones

2:16 PM
IANAP but I'd guess your seal is broken
from what I saw when a plumber came to my house to snake the toilet drain, you just take the old seal off and put a new seal on then bolt the toilet down. I'd check the diy stackexchange for tips, but I think that's all there is too it.
... OR ... maybe your toilet is cracked inside.

those are my two wild-ass guesses.

UK ones don't usually go straight into the floor inside the pan profile. They have a pipe which comes out the back.

The refrigerator also pees, but that seems to have stopped since we turned the ice maker on.
yay new house

2:48 PM
The ice maker will shut off though, once it makes enough ice

@Mr.ShinyandNew安宇 Hmm.

Hi, Very Good Evening guys!

3:08 PM
Hello

@Mr.ShinyandNew安宇 are you busy? can i get some assistance from you at this moment for choosing a most appropriate image for my situation which i'm dealing with right now?

It also: I'm sory, I have English on "you" ?

Poor guy. He got English on somebody.
I'd check the water supply first. I had what looked like a leak from the floor bolt area and it turned out to be a very small leak coming from where the water supply connected to the tank. I would experiment with turning off the water supply when you're not using the toilet and seeing if the leak still happens.

3:26 PM
@Robusto will do!

Yeah turning off and leaving for a couple of days sounds like a decent idea.

Also feel the length of the water supply to see if you can find any wetness, especially up near the tank.

If the water container is filled with cold water there will be condens? on the outside.

If the dew point is low enough there will.

Toilets are often sweaty.

3:30 PM
Is the leak on the same side of the toilet as the water supply? It doesn't have to be, but that would give a little more evidence.

To speed things up you can of course fill it with room temperature water after turning off the supply.

Aha!

???

3:32 PM
@CrazyNinja Sorry, I was busy, didn't see your question.

Two ninjas one broken toilet.

You can, if that's what you're into
I'd be Mr. Shiny and Ninja, of course

That would be chrome ninja.

could be, I guess

@JohanLarsson That only works if you're matching an entry in a form or database. Anywhere else you'd have to remove the start and end indicators, or at least allow for leading or trailing whitespace.

sure, could be relaxed a bit

not to mention @cornbreadninja麵包忍者 has some decorations on her name

The ouija (/ˈwiːdʒə/ WEE-jə), also known as a spirit board or talking board, is a flat board marked with the letters of the alphabet, the numbers 0–9, the words "yes", "no", "hello" (occasionally), and "goodbye", along with various symbols and graphics. It uses a planchette (small heart-shaped piece of wood or plastic) as a movable indicator to indicate the spirit's message by spelling it out on the board during a séance. Participants place their fingers on the planchette, and it is moved about the board to spell out words. "Ouija" has become a trademark that is often used generically to refer...
Nonja is the Malay word for girl. Some uses of the word include: Nonja (Miami), the orangutan with the longest known lifespan Nonja (Vienna), an orangutan famous for maintaining a Facebook page...

also "ouija" is a bit a pleonasm

@crl I only get it now that you mention it.
I really have a hard time believing that the orangutan maintains his/her own facebook page. That's ridiculous. They'd never bother to waste time like that.

@RegDwigнt Exquisite!
I couldn't have designed it better myself.
