@tchrist — As you yourself recently suggested in a footnote here, the ready availability of a 'kindly Community Manager' is by no means guaranteed... Is there some kind of spell or other form of invocation that must first be resorted to? :) — Erik Kowal 9 hours ago

I hear they like a fresh goat.

Or a virgin.
Perhaps a virgin goat :D

Periwinkle is a colour! TIL
The common periwinkle or winkle (Littorina littorea) is a species of small edible sea snail, a marine gastropod mollusc that has gills and an operculum, and is classified within the family Littorinidae, the periwinkles. This is a robust intertidal species with a dark and sometimes banded shell. It is native to the rocky shores of the northeastern, and introduced to the northwestern, Atlantic Ocean. == Description == The shell is broadly ovate, thick, and sharply pointed except when eroded. The shell contains six to seven whorls with some fine threads and wrinkles. The color is variable f...
not very blue...
@arrowfar now you look like a bridge

user116848
@MattE.Эллен Yay!

Periwinkle is a color in the blue and purple family. Its name is derived from the lesser periwinkle or myrtle herb (Vinca minor) which bears flowers of the same color. The color periwinkle is also called lavender blue. The color periwinkle may be considered a pale tint of blue or a "pastel blue". The first recorded use of periwinkle as a color name in English was in 1895. == In popular culture == Periwinkle blue is the color for esophageal and stomach cancer awareness ribbons, and for anorexia nervosa and bulimia. It is also the color for pulmonary hypertension awareness ribbons. The 'downvote...
Why doesn't mine one-box @MattE.Эллен?

because it's using the mobile URL

Thanks pal :-)
Did you see my full apology to george pompidou @MattE.Эллен
I feel better now.

11:38 AM
OK, good :) I didn't know you'd had a falling out.

Remember I threatened him
You pinned the message

Oh, right! That was a while ago :D I'm glad you've resolved it.

Racism always makes me do dumb stuff.
I've learned my lesson now.

good good

thanks for trying to understand
I will leave the keyboard if anything like that happens again

11:45 AM
fair enough

I always leave the situation in real life.
The Internet is different that way...
...you wanna stay and fight it out.

yeah. it's a strange place. we're all getting used to it, still.

This comment really gave me a guilty feeling. @MattE.Эллен

user116848
12:15 PM
I agree.

user116848
Internet is different and keyboard can be very tempting.

Also the amount of multitasking you can attempt is scary

user116848
Yeah :)

There is a multitasking app built in
For Apple

user116848
So while talking in multiple chat rooms sometimes I fear that I don't type wrong stuff in the wrong room. Not that it has ever happened to me. But who knows? :)

user116848
12:22 PM
I have about only seven tabs now.

user116848
One window.

Yep, that has happened to me between math and physics :-)

user116848
Heh!

I gotta run, see you later pal @arrowfar

user116848
See you later!

12:50 PM
I hate that Apple thinks every image you ever use ought to be in a photo album. Get yer stinkin' hands off me pics, bitch!
I do not want to store random graphics of tweets into photo albums. When I want to create a photo album, I will let you know. If you're lucky, you'll still be in business by then.

Sounds annoying.
But they think you are a Simple User.
One who only takes thousands of pictures a day to post on Facebook and that's it.

Yay, google is teaming up with Tag to make a competitor for the iWatch

Hi!

But there are already like 10 other smart watches.

12:56 PM
already?

@infinitesimalsimplicio We already have a competitor for the iWatch. It's the NoWatch. Or the RealWatch.
@Cerberus They should rename it the iSuck.

Not to mention that I doubt the added value, yeah.
Haha, I think the Isuck already exists...

Actually, a search reveals that the name has already been taken, thousands of times, in vain.
I should not be surprised.

In better news, I got to ride my bike again yesterday.
Damn, it feels so good.
I'm still glowing.
Rain today, though. Bleh.
Yet the snow is melting! She melts! She melts!

1:01 PM
nvm
the weather

Has the Bay Area ever been snowed upon?

be a warrior and ride in the rain

warriors die horrible deaths

true
just like the golden state warriors :(
based in oak town

Well . . . just be glad you're not in Sacramento.
In better news, Butler and Gibson are back in the lineup and the Bulls are competitive once again.

1:06 PM
yay, no football... Nash is finished.
back to South Africa?

@Cerberus But which one is the smartest? There can only be one.

@Robusto Of course that's an oversimplification.

I will continue to use my dumb watch, which is analog and tells time really well. It also has Arabic numerals for all the numbers. All of them, Kevin.
@Mitch Undoubtedly, but it creates a useful starting point for the discussion of git + Hilbert => gilbert space.

@Robusto Maybe they're all pretty dumb.
@infinitesimalsimplicio You're quoting an Apple website...

@Robusto I heard that Schroedinger meant the story not to explain the concept but to show that the concept was crazy. Sorta backfired on him.

1:13 PM
You seem to be reading backward.

In the permanent time-space cube, there is no direction.
@Robusto That's a hard nut to crack.
Wait, that's filbert space.

Thought of, rejected.

@Cerberus forgive me for I have sinned :(

You'll have to buy an indulgence.

1:18 PM
An expensive one.

@Cerberus Simony!

Why not wait for the price to come down?

@infinitesimalsimplicio Because Apple prices never come down, dummy.

I'm not a "dummy." I'm a "skully" :D

1:23 PM
Or a Mulder.

I still haven't gotten around to watching that show.
Too much never enough sports.

2 hours later…
3:06 PM
What gender should I use for the Bald eagle while writing about it. I don't want to use The bald eagle so many times in my letter.

Just choose one and stick with it.
Usually, male is the default gender.

1 hour later…
4:22 PM
@Kabir use it.

@MattE.Эллен Well, if it's bald you can assume it's male, right?

lol
I think sinead o'connor might have something to say about that :D
(or Gail Porter, but she's not so well known)

@MattE.Эллен Yeah, she's always been a troublemaker.

4:44 PM
Hello, do you guys know any people who commentate or make let's plays that use perfect tenses? I learn languages by hearing speakers talk, and I pretty much learned from Youtube. An issue is that Americans apparently don't use perfect tenses.
Alternatively, do you guys know any other good ways to learn perfect tenses? That's pretty much the only big language hole I have, the other one is British-only words.

3 hours later…
7:32 PM
@Mateon1 I have used them, I had used them, and I will have used them.

1 hour later…
9:01 PM
@Robusto Well, I never.
@Mateon1 To be more blunt than Robusto, where did you get that impression?
