@Mat'sMug My first session was with VB.Net, and then the second we had a "web" intorduction with asp.net (2 I guess the one with page cycle). In my last session, we had a project with asp.net mvc 4, but I have not done a single configuration step :P

@SimonAndréForsberg What is stopping you then? ;)

@Mat'sMug Web.Config is the same thing as an App.Config

@skiwi I'm not entirely proud of my code, it feels a bit spagettish sometimes. And as some projects are clones of other projects, I'm not sure if there are any legal issues about that.

the Web.Config holds information for the IIS Server as well as for the web application.

word of the day: spaghettish
3
yeah, I know the configuration hierarchy down to machine.config ;)
so web.config is just an app.config that IIS understands
thanks @Santa!

BenVlodgiThis is code you posted in the comments lblCustomerName.Text = customerTA.GetDataByCustomerName(customer.Name).ToString(); I'm going to explain what your code is doing. I have an object named customerTA, I'm going to call a method on this object to GetDataByCustomerName which I assume gets so...

A: Optimize CoffeeScript comparison function

nrwYou don't seem to have a representation of your table as data, just in the DOM. That's making this a really cumbersome job. This will be more legible if you follow the Rule of Representation. @SimonAndréForsberg I will, I will :P

@SimonAndréForsberg You'd need to check out those legal issues yes (I'm sure there's a SE site for that!), but as long as you put some disclaimer and don't sell it for commercial purposes I doubt anything is going to happen, and first thing they would do is sent a kind request for removal I think
I must check my history to see how I ended up with spending 4 hours on integrating Coveralls.

Thank you @Svick

chillworldAlthough you had a bunch of good advice I miss one thing in all the reviews. Scope the global variablen public class RulesMapping extends BaseVO { Integer fieldId; String referenceField; Integer ruleId; public Integer sequenceNumber; String ruleConfig; This should be : p...

I don't get that nobody tells that in the review :)

@chillworld Scope the global variablen ?? (typo)

6:59 PM
oh yeah possible
how is it spelled?

variables ? I guess but it depends on what you mean by the "title"

Damn, I love this.
Appereantly I entered this search query: google.nl/#q=github+project+for+multiple+java+versions
"github project for multiple java versions", then saw about Coveralls and Travis CI, and thus ended up 4 hours spending there, while it was actually a miss on my search query.

yes that was it :)
just googled it already and changed it

not much to do to this except for to add more functionality I think.....

@Malachi make that conditional also for box => boxes
an if for checking 1 :s
to format output

7:09 PM
@chillworld Well didn't mnhg cover it in his answer (the first paragraph) ?

@Marc-Andre yup overlooked it, deleted mine answer cause we don't need duplicates.
thx for saying it

@chillworld Your welcome I find it odd too so I double checked ;) I'm sorry that you needed to delete your answer

@Marc-Andre why sorry? we are doing refactoring here and deletion comes with refactoring ;)

Well sure, but I always like to keeps things anyway (and your answer was nicer in looks ;) )

that's the reason I overlooked it I gues :)
next week I'm gonna put a nice java question about threads
It's in production and works very good
Just to see if it can be better or not

7:16 PM
Threads always work until something bad happens ;)

@skiwi threads and webservices :D ( a check of all our users with the HR webservice to see if the users are still valid)
the reason I want to ask is that I call ALL the users in one time from the DB

@skiwi everything works until someone Breaks it

and there are 40k users in our system I think

I am heading toward another nice answer with this one

A: Calculate balance wages

MalachiFormatting formatting inside your foreach should be indented This: foreach (Earning e in earningList) { // Sum all earnings... var totalEarnings = earningList[i].AmountForEPF + earningList[i].OverTimeAmount + earningList[i].IncentiveAllowance + earningList[i].SpecialA...

I'm thinking in the trend of producer - consumer to refactor cause now the treads starts when I have all the users (and that take a while)
with producer - consumer I can ask pages but more networktraffic and overhead
@Marc-Andre what language do you do?

7:22 PM
@chillworld Java

I have a designer ( he code besides me) but no design
I'm the lowest and I have to find the solutions

Not at all :P We have a big big stack of things for our continous integration and everything!

We even have a test cell and we write our own tests :D
but actually, I like it like this.
I can do whatever I want
I even put a button in a hidden screen what some people know
and only me can click on it. => over 3 months in production and nobody came complaining :D

@Marc-Andre What does your continious integration all do? Currently mine builds, runs tests and reports coverage results... If there are any more useful things to add to it, I'd want to.

@skiwi sonar maybe?

7:32 PM
Doesn't sonar cost quite some money?

euuh that I don't know, but we use it.

wow I leave for an hour and +50!! thanks @Santa!

"SonarQube™ software (previously known as “Sonar”) is an open source project hosted at Codehaus"
This one?

yes

@skiwi Well it send an email when something fail to the responsible. Deploy the change to our artifactory server to deploy it on our servers. It can do a lot of things

7:33 PM
I'll check upon that then

@Malachi got Tim's email yet?

I refactorred mine first project to 100% compliance and he has sometimes good critic to say

did you get it?

no

I haven't checked yet today
I will check it for sure when I pick up my daughter from school and drop her off at home though.

@Malachi should this be tagged with ?

@Mat'sMug probably, let's see what the OP says
@konijn Monking

"Finding the number of boxes that can fit into a truck" , what is that ?
also, Hi ;)
it's not volume
it's not count
is there a word indicating the number of times something can fit into something else?

@konijn is that anywhere like finding the number of golf balls that can fit into a bus?

@chillworld The interface doesn't look the nicest... but I'll still give it a try

Integrating SonarQube into Travis CI is probably not trivial at all...
Erm yea, I was goign to do something useful...
Is anyone here using Windows 8? If so, you probably know how Outlook displays emails (and Skype if turned on) in the top right of your screen... Does anyone know a way to attach an RSS feed to that?

8:06 PM
Got Win8 with Outlook 2010 right here at work (in front of me, behind The 2nd Monitor)... are you talking about the metro app? Hate it. I use the desktop one.

Not the mail app itself, the notifications that top up on the right top
Though that's not always the case for some reason
I'm sure it does that here with the Calendar though

yeah that's the metro app doing that
no clue how to go about that crap

I don't think that part is crap... For most of the Modern UI, I agree
Tomorrow I'll look into setting up feeds for custom SO answering queue, CR custom queue, github commits/notifications, travis build notifications and coveralls notifications

"Big Pimpin'" is the fifth and final single from rapper Jay-Z's fourth album Vol. 3... Life and Times of S. Carter. It features rapping by Southern hip hop group UGK as well as production by Timbaland. The song by Jay-Z was based loosely around Tha Dogg Pound's major hit Big Pimpin', which was released in 1997. Timbaland samples "Khosara Khosara", composed by Baligh Hamdi of Egypt in the mid-20th century and originally recorded by the famous Egyptian vocalist Abdel Halim Hafez. The sampled version of "Khosara Khosara" was arranged and performed by Hossam Ramzy, and can be heard on a C...

@Mat'sMug TS
Meh, my project doesn't build at the moment, because it lacks a dependency, but that dependency has not been tested yet
dependency here is just two classes that I still needed to upload

bah ok allright, I'll go back to that one after 12AM UTC and upvote it myself ;)

Q: Xcode - UIView doesn't respond

Sueño de la MadrugadaBefore I get in on the code, here's the background of what I'm doing: I have a UIWebView and whenever a link is clicked, refreshed, etc, a UIView is supposed to pop up until it finishes loading. So here's the problem: My UIView (loaderview) doesn't appear when it's supposed to. Here is my code...

Cool, I was getting ready to hit one of the old ones. I might check Overflow too, though debugging is not as fun/constructive methinks :)

I looked at your one answer there, but... it's a crappy question, and the answer is ... not an improvement (th month-1 issue). Then again, I cannot think what I would recommend either.

Yeah. I appreciated @200_success pointing out my answer was not that good of an idea (hence the rollback of it).
I've read on SO that Perl uses this date format, which I find odd. Then again I know nothing about Perl, I'm sure there is a reason behind it.

11:24 PM
Perl inherits 0-based months from C.

Q: ArtJs javascript library

user3658584Some time ago I created JS framework and recently I spent some more time to move it forward. Please feel free to experiment with it. Any feedback is welcome! I'm working hard on writing better documentation but I decided to publish it anyway since otherwise I would defer it infinitely Please note...

However, it would be harmful to ever produce a date formatted like "21/04/2014" meaning 21 May 2014.

But it is convenient for qw/Jan Feb Mar Apr May Jun Jul Aug Sep Oct Nov Dec/[localtime[4]]

@200_success that may be a good idea. If this were my code I'd want PHP to just call the parameters into a proc in MySQL that way it's much more difficult to inject or reveal DB structure.
