I'm just flagging non-answers on SO tonight.

I wish I could see a more detailed view on the ad stats!

I think I'm going to bed early today. Getting a whole night of sleep wouldn't hurt.

Q: Python game, my first try

LuukVI've started coding about 3 weeks ago, just for fun and maybe practical uses later. My GF dared me to make a PGM that would replace this dice game where you roll two dice, one with body parts and one with actions, then resulting in stuff like 'kiss, lips'. All I know is off of YouTube and sites ...

chillworldWhen I looked first I was thinking you don't need it cause ConcurrentHashMap has atomic operations. But when I read your full ClientData I see that you create a map where the key is the same as your value. Next thinking of me : Isn't that a little overkill? Why don't you just put a Set in you...

Ugh, need to install Java 6 JDK, appereantly I don't have it installed... Opensource project isn't that useless only on java 7 as I think quite some use (if any use at all) will come from Android.

Morning @Vogel612

Monking @skiwi

I'm wondering how I need to structure a project as I want to offer Java 6, 7 and 8 versions
I'm thinking about 3 different github repo's, but I need to share most of the code somehow

7:41 AM
Nice try, webhosting ..i..
I'm not going to upgrade my hosting to a better/more expensive package before I want to get support...
I wasn't even asking for an upgrade in that support ticket, then they mail me back about if I want to consider to upgrade, then I would need to send a reply (and pay of course) and only then they would submit my ticket to the technical support.

Does anyone here have experience with Travis-CI?

nope. A little with Jenkins, not that it worked...

I'm working how I can get it to recognize JUnit
It should be as simply as telling it that it has a depdency to junit.xxx.jar
There is hope, I'm not alone

Q: Travis CI With Ant Build, Not Finding JUnit

Scotty C.I'm trying to figure out how to get Travis CI working with my little Java library on Github. The problem seems to be that whenever the build process gets to the compilation stage, it won't compile the unit tests because it can't seem to find the JUnit jar file. Of course the Ant script works be...

Well that looks simple enough...

Only he can use a custom ant file... Mine are pregenerated by NB

the ant-file is irrelevant here..
you need to add jUnit to the project classpath.

8:07 AM
Then I need to figure out how to do that exactly with Travis

Travis doesn't give a damn on that...
If jUnit isn't included in the project, travis won't find it, but that is not Travis' problem, but the projects responsibility..

I need to use an install: ??? to add the depdency
I can add junit.jar to the project, but that won't automagically put it on the classpath

It should be fine to add it as a library, if I'm right..

How? Travis-CI doesn't know about libraries :(
Unless it can use the Netbenas build.xml for that, but I rather prefer not to mess with that
Well I'll just try first
Will make a fun refactoring project at some point
Yay, it works!

8:23 AM
what did you do?

Added it as a library and Netbeans fixed the build.xml file for me

Well, it would be nice if it could always be so easy, right?

Now onto to getting this other thing to work...
If it only were always that esy indeed.
Now they keep talking about a gemfile in github and travis-ci, I know it has to do with Ruby now, but I've got no clue what to do with it

skiwi, I edited mine answer. I was incorrect with the set not being atomic in the atomic reference

When did I read that answer? ;)

it is, the problem is only when you have a Map<String,<Set<Object>>>
the set isn't being atomic
lol I thought so cause I had already an upvote

I don't think the unanswered tab is that powerful :(

10:03 AM
I am tempted to post a sarcastic rebuttal....
@skiwi the unanswered tab is mostly useless on so..
as it's just too many questions...

I'll go with the custom one then ;)
Ah... I actually meant without an accepted answer (that is what the Unanswered tab does)...
I see it already in advanced search options

answers:0
even though unanswered is a little different from that..
as it's "answers with upvotes or accept: 0"

Hey, suddenly high quality questions!
It also shows accepted ones for some reason
Ah, the negation of isaccepted:yes is hasaccepted:no...
Is there a possibility of using tag a or tag b?

10:28 AM
shouldn't isaccepted be a property of an answer and hasaccepted of a question?

@Donald.McLean Gonna throw a wild question here: Do you know how to run a maven plugin from within ant?

@skiwi Not specifically, no. I have a vague recollection that JAR files for plugins have to be specified carefully or Ant doesn't pick them up.

The Java language has undergone several changes since JDK 1.0 as well as numerous additions of classes and packages to the standard library. Since J2SE 1.4, the evolution of the Java language has been governed by the Java Community Process (JCP), which uses Java Specification Requests (JSRs) to propose and specify additions and changes to the Java platform. The language is specified by the Java Language Specification (JLS); changes to the JLS are managed under [http://www.jcp.org/en/jsr/detail?id=901 JSR 901]. Am I the only one annoyed not neccessarilly by the absence of operator overloading in Java, but by the presence of overly verbose mathmetical operations on classes?

You mean stuff like Vector + Vector ?

Like new BigInteger(new BigInteger(10).multiply(new BigInteger(2)).add(otherBigInteger)
It gets even more annoying with vectors and matrices ;)

wat......

Basically it's about disliking prefix notation

new BigInteger(200).add(otherBigInteger)
should do the same right??

12:57 PM
While that operation was nothing from than (10 * 2) + otherBigInteger
that could example is broken on more levels than one btw

@Vogel612 I have seen Questions where all the code was a different language, there was almost no English in them, it was very hard to understand what was going on, and if there was an uppercase letter in a variable, you didn't really know if it was a typo stuff like that
