@DanielSank DZ said earlier he can give/ grant a/ the speaker/ guest access to the room if they dont have rep & do encourage that this be pursued esp for higher profile speakers. as for inviting people/ audience, it only takes 20rep anywhere on SE to get into any chat room. therefore, suggest to your friends they find a SE they like, ask a few questions, and they only need 4 votes on questions or 2 votes on answers. also, people can read the chat room without rep.

BTW, what style are you planning to use with @Slereah's AMA?

The meta votes so far are in favor of the prepared questions (with some on-the-spot ones too).

It would be interesting to try this, as I haven't seen it done this way online before and it sounds like it would make sense.

I think we were on a good track.

I made a chat server using scala and Netty so I have some idea how to go about the networking stuff in the scala implementation.

I'm really excited about learning to make the method stubs in scala though.

@DanielSank like the idea of different fmts that adapt to circumstances but think its overkill/ not practical right now. anyone can start a meta post for slereah incl himself if he wants to, support that, will add questions there if someone else starts it. am a bit averse to meta myself, dont have much rep here yet, feel like a "target" o_O

@DanielSank am planning to keep a running guest list/ pointer to prior sessions as blog page, it will have some of this detail, but prefer to start it after 1st session

@Slereah exactly. think prior questions is more of a issue with "very high profile/ famous" guests. dont see that happening short term, alas, despite my own efforts. think it will require some lobbying by others.

@vzn @BernardMeurer's description isn't quite right. cappy is a project to build a capabilities model RPC protocol and implement it in both python and scala.

@vzn You know what's really funny about this is that when we first started discussing the AMA I strongly recommended some "incremental" work and you objected. I can find the chat history if you like.

In any case, I'm glad we have things moving.
