@DoubleAA Aha. Thanks. So i guess it's retroactively counted as if i never got the +2.

@yEz I thought it useful. Thank you for posting it. Y'yasher kochacha.

@yEz I think it's great: understandable, convincing, and new to me. I second @msh210's Y"K.
@yEz I'll bet you could give a great answer to "Why EM"Y"? based on RSh"P. You wouldn't have to include summaries for each number, as a couple of other answers have; just summarize some thoughts from his introduction (assuming he's got one) on the overall point of the song.

@Scimonster 1) did you really get no notification whatsoever? how did you notice the -2? this may be worth reporting. 2) doesn't make much sense to me to lose rep just bc the op decided to delete his post. you contributed. this may be worth reporting.

4:51 PM
@DoubleAA I noticed the -2 because i had had exactly 8333, which i took note of. Then i downvoted an answer, which was -1. A few hours later, i saw that i was now at 8330. No notification.
Sure enough, when i look at my reputation count for 9/21/14, that isn't on there at all.

@IsaacMoses Tried my best. (It was a lot easier than the previous one.)

@yEz Thanks!

What's policy if I am typing up an answer, and someone posts the answer I was just in the middle of, in such a way that my answer adds nothing, as I am about to finish?

@yEz Flag the other answer as offensive, downvote it, then post yours. Make sure to leave a comment describing your feelings about the personal scent of the author.

@yEz Alternative: Edit your profile to change your name to "Please Delete," then, starting from your most recent posts, begin deleting all answers and editing all questions to replace their text with embedded animated gifs of kung fu stick figures.

@IsaacMoses I was thinking more along the lines of "post it anyways" or "don't bother posting at that point," but I guess I'll try both of those instead.

@yEz Glad I could help

@yEz If those don't work: If you think it won't add anything, don't post it, but do congratulate yourself on having thought about the sugya long enough to construct a coherent answer, and resolve to follow chayil with chayil.

@IsaacMoses Re this I am going to assume you weren't trying to be facetious, because that doesn't seem like you, but that wasn't my point.
I've been working on my midos since then, as you can see.

@IsaacMoses I'm sorry, I won't be able to focus on anything you say until that leaping stickman leaves my screen.

Oh, man. It was miniaturized. I was hoping it would push up really far all by itself.
There we go

yEz
@IsaacMoses Sorry, what'd you say? I got distracted by some vertical-log scale graphics.

I just participated in my first chevra kadisha experience and I have tons of questions.
But I'm gonna post the one that I have an answer to first.

@IsaacMoses Here's the only one I'll be able to offer an opinion on.

@yEz Thanks for enhancing the Jinternet

yEz, but why to ask if YOU know the answer?

@havarka for the benefit of people who don't. Asking and answering your own question is permitted -- we just need to make sure the question stands alone, as it's easy to write a question that leaves stuff out (because you know where it's going). YEZ didn't do that, to be clear -- that question/answer set looks good to me.
@yEz yasher kochacha!

@MonicaCellio Thanks. I'm having trouble staying in this room.
If I didn't have so many windows open that I'm going to not be able to relocate, I'd restart my computer.

Have you tried using browser sessions to keep track of your tabs?
Oh, you said windows, so maybe not just tabs?

yEz
@MonicaCellio I meant tabs, but it's windows also. I don't know what browser sessions are. but I just made a word file of all the things I have open and I'm gonna try rebooting now.

9:35 PM
use chrome, i usually just pull the plug out while I have open many tabs, and by next starting up the computer, I have it all of them.

@havarka Doesn't always work. When i do that, it crashes, and i have to click restore, and usually it comes up with all the right tabs.

@yEz Firefox and Chrome both support this. (I think it's native in FF now; it used to be an add-on.) In FF look under "Options -> General" and find "When Firefox starts" -- there's a menu there. Does it include, for you, "prompt for session to load"?
In Chrome, for me, it just works; there may have been something I had to do once in settings but I'm not sure. If the browser exited abnormally then on the next start you'll probably need to click on the "restore" button, but so far that's always worked for me.

@Scimonster by me it works always, maybe cause of ubuntu...
@MonicaCellio thumps up

@havarka I'm also on Ubuntu. Just once in a while, if i opened/closed a tab right before the computer died it won't be there.

I haven't done this under Linux (Windows at work, Mac at home).

Q: Please edit content for publication in the updated Hagadah

ScimonsterPesach is in 1 week; let's get cracking! Really! Let's edit some content for the updated Hagadah publication. Each answer here should cover one question and its answer(s), following this template. There is no need to cover all answers in your work; choose the subset of content that you think wo...

I just recommended using the style guides for the original Hagadah. That way it should all look good together.
It's after midnight here, but i'll try and do one tomorrow if i have time. The rest of you, as soon as you're ready would be great.
Is Wednesday an appropriate deadline? Pesach is Friday night. :/

I fear it may be too late for this year, unless someone steps forward to do the final editing. Once we have posts on meta they need to get into the Word doc, ideally with a little proofreading of the result, and then a PDF needs to come out.
But if not this year, then let's get an early start for next year!
I'm not trying to damp down enthusiasm -- just pointing out that there's more after meta and I don't want to assume that our usual Word-wrangler is available. (If he is, great.)

@MonicaCellio l'shana haba'ah!

@yEz yes!

@MonicaCellio sorry. Accidental flag. Reply: no, not between now and Pesach reliably. Sorry
