It is well-established in the sunnah that the prophet encouraged his followers to keep their beards long, but trim their moustaches. It is also well-established in the sunnah that the prophet discouraged his followers from doing anything to resemble non-muslims.
It can even be said that the two...

As as example consider Zuhr/Duhr prayer in which we have
4 Confirmed Sunnah
4 Farz/Farz
2 Confirmed Sunnah
2 Nafil
Suppose when i enter Masjid / Mosque i find that the Jama'at is in progress.
Should i join the Jama'at or offer Confirmed Sunnah first?
Or can i offer Sunnah AFT...
@MohammadYaseen what I mean by add on to that is ((meaning to add extra salat to that, Tatawu' prayer which is the same as nafil prayers, so just make extra nafil prayer.)
@Al Ummat So, what i gather from your answer is if a sunnah prayer which was supposed to be offered before fard is missed then i can leave it and add nafil to it
In questions and answers, the font size can be adjusted. But in chat, the size cannot be adjusted. Maybe we should direct this to meta and see what the SE team can do about it?
the arabic font is too small to read. i have to strain my eyes to read it in the current state.
I can zoom the brower to read it but zooming everytime is not a point.
In the normal state the font looks like this
Zoomimg it upto 190 to 200 % makes it clear.
Doing that everytime is not fe...
In Question and Answer, we can have them to a more legible format by applying some styling on the fonts as below; which is the one that looks good?
ستاق اكثجىنج (Default size, hard to read)
ستاق اكثجىنج (Same size, bold but readable?)
ستاق اكثجىنج (Same size, italic and readable comparitively...
@Ashu well we could always request that users make the Arabic readable, or we can request a feature which will change the font automatically to a certain font
well i believe you where referring to users making it more readable, but do you think it would work better if there was a feature which changes the font automatically
I learned that suicide is haram in islam . But recently I met a person who arguied that suicide bombing is allowed if it necessory? Is it true? Please answer with proof
How does Islam as a religion, think about suicide? Is it allowed or prohibited? What sources can you show from Qur'an and Hadith that is related to suicide.
I am no w having doubt that this question is duplicate
Assalamu alaikum ,this question is not about general suicide . My question is is there any specific rule in islam which allows suicide bombing even when suicide bombing is haram . Sorry if question was not clear :) — Aboobacker Mk2 mins ago
@tachyons Suicide bombing clearly involves killing self with no full certainty that the enemy is compromised; also consider the casualities it can cause. It is nothing but a bidah for holy wars if ever..
@tachyons this is not a good proof, you do not do suicide bombing not even in a war, ina war you fight with honor. If you are killed than Insha'Allah for Allah's sake.
when I said it will kill innocent people ,he said that if you are driving a vehicle it may it some people and causes to death , So can you say that driving is haram
Suicide Bombings have been refuted by Many scholars with evidences from Qur'an - http://www.authentictranslations.com/trans-pub/ae_saf_10.pdf http://www.authentictranslations.com/trans-pub/ae_amau_3.pdf
In a car, if you do not driving like a crazy man than Insha'Allah you wont kill any one r hurt, having car is a blessing from Allah. Driving has nothing to do with suicide bombing which kills your self and others, you are here committing two sins.
@tachyons Closing is not same as deleting.. it only means no more answers can be posted to it. I think closing is fine. All comments regarding this can be directed to the referenced "duplicate question'
I know that suicide is haram in islam . But recently I met a person who arguied that suicide bombing is allowed if it necessory? Is it true? Please answer with proof.

if you ask this question from wahhabis they will say yes.

problem is wahhabism...
As you know this stackexchange site ,not an islamic site or a discussion forum . so we should avoid sect topics from this site immediately .suggest your opinion about this issue ?
there are clearly evidences and arguments for suicide bombing (no matter how weak they are), otherwise suicide bombing wouldn't really be such a thing. those are what the questioner is looking for.
a good answer would bring up these arguments, even if only to point out how weak they are.
and link to (and maybe summarize) the original "Is suicide haram" question to explain why suicide is haram.
as a Q&A site, having all the "Is Suicide Haram" arguments concentrated on one question is better for all. That way if anyone links to it, they'll get all the information in one page instead of having to search around for all the related questions.
If all the answers to the suicide bombing question are the same answers you'd get for the suicide question, then it should be closed as duplicate.
But as we've agreed, the question is fundamentally different. Even if nobody agrees with the premise it suggests, it is a valid question in it's own right, and deserving of it's own answers.
(at least that's how i see it. it might be worth bringing up on meta.)
No. it is not a sin.
if you want answer from Quran first we should know what is the Arabic word for sect in Quran.
ashia shiite shi'te shii'te shīʿah shi'ite shi'ites shias all are the same.
all are for arabic word شيعه which means follower [of some one]/ sect.
but in shia/sunni debates shia m...

Yes I am going to try to answer them I am researching them. What I like about Q&A sites is if you do not know the answer to a question than you can research it and learn your self. Has there been any questions about Ramadan?
i expect someone will come out with the old classic "Does Ramadan only start when the moon is sighted locally, or does any sighting in the world count?" eventually.
i tend towards the "keep it simple, and just pay whichever sound interpretation would be greater; the excess would be sadaqah" philosophy myself, which isn't very helpful for answering in this case.
more accurately, i tend towards the "zakat is whatever the authorized zakat collector says it is (i.e., obey those in authority over you)," but if there's no authorized zakat collector to deal with it's moot.
@PowerInside lol, they have an "established user" badge?
I think you're mistaken..I have no silver badges on this site
Although admittedly, it's more of a responsibility thing than a "yay" moment, I feel more responsible for making sure the site "makes it" through whatever I can do
@ashes999 You are right.. I just checked, there isn't an established user badge over here. I thought badges were the same all around StackExchange Network.
I have a doubt. I have couple of questions and I know the answers to them. However they are interesting questions in my opinion and will help new muslims or muslims thinking to revert. But should I ask them?
multiple questions in the same post is discouraged. exactly how discouraged really depends on how closely related the questions are.
when in doubt, split it up.
it mostly depends on whether the answers would be the same for both questions. if each question would have it's own best answer, better to split them up and let the best answers for each get accepted, rather than waiting for one answer to best-answer both questions at once.
Okay. Here is another. "What is the islamic ruling regarding tattoos? If a revert muslim has a permanent tattoo, is it obligatory for him to remove it?"
