7:00 PM
Yeah, there's no way to ever make a badge unless you buy some, and that I have no interest in

I was waiting for the price of Zestiria to go down, but it's still at the same price it was one week after game launch :(

That's odd, Gordon - generally popular games have lower prices on cards

Well more people were buying then owning the game was the thing

I got it for $24.99 the other day, ffao
during the Anime sale

which is the same price it was at during a sale one week after launch, I think

7:01 PM
Ah, okay
Yeah, will probably be a bit before it goes lower than that
Unless found offsite
hahaha
I've been holding on to these items, in my steam inventory, for Warframe
One of them is worth $2.90 right now

:o

Horse puzzle person VTC'd horse puzzle.

wait...what?
I didn't think you could do that - did they just delete it?

oh I played about half an hour of warframe
just long enough to be like "ok this is fun-ish, but there's too much to learn. nevermind"

7:04 PM
Played it for a while, but not in several years - should go back and try it again

I'm a bit prejudiced against free to play

why EVER would you be

I feel like they're going to artificially limit my progress at some point
then you're left with an incomplete game you need to pay hundreds to see the ending of

Many do - but there are several good ones

(yeah it's not inherently a bad model but is almost always abused)

7:05 PM
yeah

@manshu I did no such thing.

I've sunk many, many hours into tf2

@Will That's why I had to delete that message :(

oh holy crap - some of my TF2 crates sell for $0.50+
going to have to sell them =D

I made 60$ off of tf2

7:05 PM
though... I think I actually bought that, back when you had to

from 1 item

lol

I actually considered that recently
I've got some good items and I hardly ever play the game anymore

I spent too much time trading on there. I still have a ton of keys and buds left after I stopped though

7:06 PM
but... unless you enter the world of brokered key/bud trading, you're basically selling for steam funbux

yes, some games do it right, mostly the ones in which paid items are cosmetic in nature

Wow, now that's some stupid stuff.

@Khale_Kitha Exactly

You can't sell stuff, on steam, now, unless you're REGULARLY using the mobile authenticator
Who needs to do that?

Well you do most trading in game, then cash out on big items in the market
otherwise you lose too much from market cuts

7:08 PM
Never liked those systems that need mobile verification, it isn't very reliable

@GordonAllocman right, but if you want IRL money, you have to go through semi-sketchy avenues

Everytime google sends me an SMS message, it's because I'm out of country therefore my phone does not work

true, but steam fun money is basically real money whenever a steam sale comes around :P

yeah
but given how rarely I actually play my games, I'd rather just have IRL money
gimme that $$$fiat currency$$$
lol the mathjax extension broke that

This is a LaTex-free room, sir.
:P

7:11 PM
god I'm so far behind on videogames. I'm tempted to watch some videos of people playing dark souls iii though.

Oh good, i'm allergic

lol

Don't do it man, if you ever plan on playing it, it'll ruin the fun

Im currently working through ds2 blind and its pretty great

7:12 PM
Steam Guard security feature #1: Load the page REALLY slowly, so that people give up.

I tried playing the first one. I completely fucked up at killing the tutorial boss
so... I haven't come back to it (though DSII is still on my wishlist, straight up laughing at me)

I used copius amounts of online info for ds1 and decided I cheated myself out of some fun

also
I have trouble with games that are brutally bleak

by tutorial boss, do you mean the one you're supposed to run away from, or the real one after that?

what.... dark souls is so bright and vivid! (in like two areas of the game)

7:14 PM
the one you're not supposed to fight at first
like
even after I did the thing where I fell down from the balcony, I kept getting knocked down and then was unable to get up and move far enough away in time for dude's next hit
so I'm like, "welp, fuck this"

my brother played dark souls
he was stuck on the double boss Ornstein and Smough (sp?) for the better part of a year

That part was awful

(ftr, I figure if you like it, that's cool. If you're good at it, I am willing to watch videos of you playing it. It's just not for me)

and then there is a guy beating them with voice commands

by the time he was able to get passed them, he was so OP that the rest of the game was a breeze ... totally not Dark Souls-y

7:17 PM
hahaha nice
to both of those

some guy played the game on a guitar somehow

there was also a twitch plays Dark Souls for a while ... dunno if that's still a thing

yeah, I watched that once
it was tedious

the same guy did the guitar

like that guy who put Doom on an apple watch

7:18 PM
ah yes, he beat the game with a rock band guitar. I could barely beat it with a xbox controller, guess I still need to git gud

anyway the vast majority of my time spent gaming was either: TF2, Skyrim, ESO, or various indie games
various short indie games

Hah, q_a....
So when I mentioned that samsung removed the Home + Power shortcut for screenshots from some devices
....apparently mine is one of them :P

oh jeez

Steam app has a new "Confirmations" screen.
I was able to confirm that I have nothing to confirm. deadpan
Though the new version of the app is much nicer.
I wish my phone wasn't so slow, I'd actually update things on occasion.

man, so far they missed pretty much all the clues i put in my hint :(

7:22 PM
I have over 140+ things that are asking to be updated, right now. But everytime that I let it update them all, i have 40+ more the next day.
D'oh, Gordon

@GordonAllocman Pizza.. almost a circle... missing a slice... Pacman? heh

I do have some red herrings in there btw

Passive aggressive.

..And I have now gotten rid of the blatant red herrings in my hint

7:28 PM
manshu wants us to talk more about games

@ffao You can do whatever you want.

wow cool I love games
lets game

Let's talk about Ludo. No? ok.

So speaking of games. Still not sure how to feel about the new Pokemon games being S&M.

I'm pretty hyped for the new pokemon to be honest, though I will hold judgement on the starters until I see there evolutions

why are you laughing out loud?
I couldn't see anything funny here.
But maybe it's just me.

huh, look at how many different meanings "mare" has across different languages en.wiktionary.org/wiki/mare

Q: Command+And+Solve

PeanutI bet you cannot solve this. Okay. I'll give you one [strike]day[/strike] forever and you can just try.

@Will That's definition 2 for English, as well as the definition for Danish and 3rd for Dutch

Yes, but it has usages that I don't see listed at your link.

The black frame is completely and uniformly black, and occurs every ten seconds

there's a whole bunch of junk in the comment section inside the file, don't know if it's there intentionally or if it was automatically generated
says "generic RGB profile" in a lot of different languages
nothing hidden in the color map, it's just black and white
no unusual characters in the post itself

Q: Which devilish person am I?

kl78Because my first riddle was solved so fast, I tried to create something short, but more diffcult. If this wont be solved and explained as fast as the first one, I will give some hints tomorrow. First, I was named by a cock, as the first. Second, I was maybe named like a cock, but before...

for anyone who was wondering which song I was thinking of earlier, it was hungarian rhapsody #2, middle-ish part

Certainly the first time I've seen that word used in a puzzle here, much less 3 times, despite its intended meaning.
2

d-dun dun duhh, d-dun dun duhh, d-dun dun dah etc

I can't find anything in just the black part of the image, either, f"
whole file contents end up being:
GIF89a  ð ÿÿÿ !ù ,    ÿÿÿ „©Ëí£œ´Ú‹³> ;

yeah, i VTCed as unclear

10:09 PM

I think I know what song you mean, actually, from that, q_a, despite not having known it's name. LoL

yeah I was like "I can hear this in my head but there's no lyrics to look up"

Here's a URL that should do that, btw
And yeah, I was right, lol

I think I learned to play an "easier" version of that when I was young

Yeah, I've never learned to play anything like that, before.

10:14 PM
I used to get that out of the library a lot

I don't know if we have that - our piano books are packed, lol

it was this weird hardcover-but-also-spiral-bound book that had a ton of the really well-known classical pieces, up through some semi-modern stuff

Oh - good that is was spiralbound
i'm sitting here trying not to cringe at the thought of playing music while the pages fight to flip back to the hard cover (or the middle, depending where you are)
