you win!

Hakuna Matata

lol
Sent Matt invite, too
I wanted a new room anyways, because that one's been up so long it appears on the side of every puzzle. .lol

gotta go now...enjoy !!! :)

6:55 PM
room topic changed to Puzzles Etc: A room for discussing non-specific puzzles, or working together. (no tags)
There - our first star @manshu
lol

thanks.

It's a Revolving Manshu.
2
I wonder if I can make Revolving = Fu.

Hahaha

I had to comeback to star the room...

6:57 PM
lol

sorry...gotta complete a topic in 1 hour now...

lol I'm so annoyed by that 'too broad' closing

LoL - I partially agree with it - but I suppose it's a matter of debate on Rebus'

it's just... I don't know how else I can say this but "multiple answers is not the same thing as multiple good answers"
2

I agree with your comment, though...
True.
Perhaps that should be edited in the help page.
"Multiple Valid Answers"
Yay. It was foot.
(Never fear. Random man is here!)
That's disconcerting, lol
Someone starred your comment, but no one else is here.

7:04 PM
haha that's... that's weird.
and uh, I didn't star your comment either. I think manshu is hiding out somehow.

I just did, as admin.
And then when I tried to unstar it, it told me I can't star my own comments
hahha

hahaha

Still thinking of my next puzzle. I need a theme.
richard Roe just posted another of the cryptic clues, if you're interested
I see the Euler was upset when some 4 other people were put up for professorships at his same salary. Normally, he was considered genial. I'm not sure this helps, though.

try everyone's favorite...language puzzle

Any idea what (3,5) means on the cryptic clues?
Language - huh.
Renames Manshu to Lurker

7:12 PM
oh, 3, 5 is just saying the answer is two words, first word is 3 letters, second is 5

Ahh, okay
I haven't looked at crossword style puzzles in a VERY long time.
And never seen them specify numbers.

@Khale_Kitha I can't really comment about any question or answer right now otherwise no one will be able to stop me from puzzling.

lol
I think I thought of a language puzzle. I'm just not sure if I can pull it off.
Name should end up being something like: Literally Speaking...

no...we have language tag
I even have a language puzzle in my mind...

Yeah, same - I'm just not sure that I can find enough information to create it =D

7:18 PM
with two other puzzles
your regional language seems to be English

Yes

ah...let me find a better tag

The puzzle still fits the language tag
perfectly

After some deep thinking I can conclude that 99.99% of puzzles should have language tag if we are considering English as a language

Meh, not really. The site is in English, so by assumption, English is not a foreign language, by classification.

7:23 PM
puzzle on literature?

@manshu I should think it is in fact the exact opposite

I've disregarded my puzzle, idea, anyhow. I don't like where it was moving.

there's a danger in applying tags too broadly
2

Yeah

if a tag can be applied to 99% of the puzzles here, it probably should be applied to almost none

7:24 PM

it should be saved for when that thing (in this case, "language") is a specific feature of that puzzle.
right, exactly
I would use that tag for puzzles about, like, jigsaw puzzles.
maybe

just in case you people are getting bored youtube.com/watch?v=tO8d60nM5k4

I'm not sure the puzzle tag exists
Right back at you.

we have jigsaw tag too

That brings up my wishing for interactive puzzles, thing.
There's so many things I could do if I could put something interactive up.

7:29 PM
Ahh...reminds me of my childhood...it was such a nice life 5 year ago... :p

lol
q_a, something makes me want to say "Mad ?????" for that last answer.

for which one?
oh, the one I'm still missing

yeah
Mad Tunes! :P

though I'm sure the first one isn't right - I just kind of made that up to fill the space
haha

lol
wait.

7:31 PM
it's not music themed

"UpSet is a new way to visualize sets intersection, compare to Euler diagram, it can provides all intersection set info (more than 6 subsets) in one figure. Although it isn’t as beautiful as Euler diagram, I think it provide the more effective way to represent intersection set."
seeing if that provides any insight

don't talk about set theory in front of q_a

lol

lol ok so here's a thing I've done more than once now
when opening a tab to rot13 something, instead of starting to type r o t 1 3 I type t r a for google translate
force of habit, I guess

haha

7:34 PM
haha

For your reference, since I gave you this site, the other day

middle of set is "e"

yeah but that doesn't leave us with a four-letter german word

SETI? :P

ahh...I didn't know that those numbers refer to the number of letters...lol

7:38 PM
omg now THAT would be an annoying puzzle.
A puzzle where you end up forcing people to google certain phrases...

And have them REALLY look for what google suggests in the "did you mean"
I look up Euler anger and it asks if I meant to search for Elder anger
lolol

hahaha
I like that, but I would hate it as a puzzle unless you made it easy to figure out that that's what you were supposed to do

I would hate trying to create it!

and it would only work for as long as it took for google to think that people were searching for (wrong phrase) in earnest

7:40 PM
My luck, it would take me 3 days to create and 10m to solve.
Yeah

I feel like the Euler thing is going to be "die [Something]"

"mad world" lol
angry euler is tricky.
He was known for being rather mild
And if he got angry, it flared, but died quickly
Got nothing.
Also, every time I read the phrase "The sky is over...you", I keep thinking, "You can't take the sky from me..."

haha
That one I'm pretty sure but not 100% sure on because "over" works, and Overture is 8 letters and it's a type of prelude, but ... my worry is that the "ture" part doesn't work

hmm

7:52 PM
:P
Manshu, the fly-by-night link dropper.
hahaha, n ice
...um.....*what* is an anagram of Fur Elise...
I don't see how Angry fits - it's ignored.

I'm batman

"if Euler's"

Yes, but if Euler's Angry. Where does Angry play a part?

but yeah, I think the angry part is confusing, but leads me to believe that the -ture in Overture isn't going to be a problem

I dislike extraneous information that pretends to be part of a puzzle, but has no part - if that's what this is - it bugs me.
A storyline is different.

7:55 PM
yeah - I tend to get caught up a lot of times with answers that I think can't possibly be right because every part doesn't fit
when, in fact, they are right, and it just doesn't matter that every part doesn't fit (for some reason)
