Hi.

@Sawarnik hi
@Sawarnik You like sequences ?

@Hippalectryon Not sure :| :|
But you may give :)

I have way too much on my exercise sheet , so I thought I'd share some.
YOu might have already done them, they're quite classical
@Sawarnik Study the sequence defined by $U_0>0$ and $\forall n\in\mathbb{N},u_{n+1}=\frac{u_n^3+3}{3u_n+1}$
@Sawarnik I'm not sharing them so that you do them for me >:o i'm sharing them because I know that I won't have time to do them and therefore idc if someone spoils the solution

@Hippalectryon I may not be able to do it :|
Anyways, work to do .. bye )

7:15 PM
:)

@Khallil So today it turns out that I also apparently took chemistry a level. Which i didn't however I am going to trial it for 2 weeks. Who knows maybe it will not be too much work.

Chemistry isn't worth the effort. Especially at A-Level, @Alizter.

@Khallil I have a lot of choice with it so we will see. I start lessons tomorrow horay
@Khallil what uni are you gonna go to?

It's up to you. If you enjoy the A-Level and wouldn't mind doing it, then by all means go head. I strongly advise you look at an A2 textbook. There's way too much to commit to memory without understanding in my opinion.
Warwick, @Alizter.

7:32 PM
@Khallil I am putting that down as my second option!
With cambridge first

Cambridge as your first?
Thought so.

@Khallil Gotta try

You'll get in for sure.
Wisely pick a college.

@Khallil I still have to do well

That's the secret to getting in.
You'll be fine!

7:32 PM
I don't like oxford though
too snobby

Mhm.
I totally agree.

@Khallil Cambridge are a bit more open
plus I like the environment

I enjoyed my very short stay at Cambridge.
Corpus Christi was very welcoming.

I havn't been to warwick yet however I have google earthed it many a time

Cambridge._G>Oxford._G
such pun

7:36 PM
I think imperial may also be another option
but I am scared of london :P

KCL was my backup.
It was pretty cool when I went there.
I don't get the pun, @Hippa.
._G?

niether do I

Lua
Programmation

@Hippalectryon Hehe that language died very quickly imo

_G = environment
:P
@Alizter It's really useful
And incredibly simple
And flexible

7:38 PM
Oh, I get it.

@Hippalectryon I learnt C# and I stick with it

Btw that's where I study :D

@Hippalectryon Wheres that?

I haven't learnt a single comp language.
^_^, @Hippa.

@Alizter France google.fr/…
@Khallil It's never too late ;)

7:39 PM
@Hippalectryon Our school has pain du chocolate

And Omelette du fromage ?

But not trees like that

My school was terrible.
I had teachers that only knew how to do the most basic of things.

@Khallil Where were you?

7:40 PM
It's pain au chocolat

I asked a teacher for help with a C3 question and he said he only taught C1-2.
Where was I? As in which school I went to?

@Hippalectryon you're missing in that picture.

@Hippalectryon I forgotted french. bonjour, j'ai maple we no fromage

@Chris'ssis :) there's no one in that picture
@Alizter Do we say forgot or forgotted ?

7:41 PM
@Hippalectryon forgotted is definitely most incorrect

j'ai maple -_____________________- did you by any chance mean *je m'appelle *

@Hippalectryon It always reminded me of maple syrup

No, he has maple, maple syrup.

spelt completely differently

7:42 PM
Jinx!

@Khallil No jinx otherwise our boxes would merge and the universe would end

Je m'appelle Khallil et je voudrais apprendre le français, @Hippa.

@Khallil On va commencer par Omelette du fromage :P

Omelette du fromage. Omelette du fromage. Pain au chocolat. Pomme de terre. Omelette du fromage.
^_^

7:46 PM
I love French. It sounds cool. Cependant, j'aime l'espagnol plus que le français.

Noooooooooooooooo

Español es el mejor. ¡Sin duda!

@Khallil Then I got the perfect thing for you

Por supuesto que si!
¿La cosa perfecta?

traditional Spanish music ^

7:48 PM
Heart beer?
What?

Insta-starred

Jajajajaja.

JAJAJAJAJAJAJA

@Chris'ssis

Is that a boarding school, @Hippa?
Also, what is this nonsense?
"You cannot star your own messages"

@Hippalectryon That's a nice picture.

7:52 PM
There are prep school students living in, but most of the poeple live outside
What you see is mostly classrooms, labs, ...

Is it free to get in?

No :c but that's not the hardest point
The Lycée Louis-le-Grand (French pronunciation: [lise lwi lə ɡʁɑ̃]) is a public secondary school located in Paris, widely regarded as one of the most rigorous in France. Formerly known as the Collège de Clermont, it was renamed in King Louis XIV of France's honor after he visited the school and offered his patronage. It offers both a sixth-form college curriculum (as a lycée with 800 pupils), and a post-secondary-level curriculum (classes préparatoires with 900 students), preparing students for entrance to the elite Grandes Écoles. Students at the Lycée Louis-le-Grand are called magnoludoviciens...

I've heard good things about French schools.

The whole challenge is to be accepted in

My old French teacher went to one of the best universities in the country. He's a cool guy.

7:54 PM
And to cope with the rythm

I bet I could do it.
Joke!
Never!

I'm far too lazy!

Y u no like 42h of class a week
And 42h of personal homework

84 hours a week?

That guy is the leader of the Illuminati.

@Khallil That's a woman

Notice how his hair is white. He uses it to illuminate others.
Wait, what?
A woman?!?

@Alizter Do you know what a fifi is?

@sarah Google it I'm not telling you

7:58 PM

why did you ask that?
@Hippalectryon I loled

Hahahahaha!
Jajajajaja!

@Alizter To make you go "wat".
It worked

Touche

Doucher?

8:00 PM
Procrastiner ?

obama call me maybe.
Not bad.

Someone stars the wat lady :c

Do you think she knows that she is internet famous?

No idea

Poor lady.

8:02 PM
You might prefer the gif

...

we should invite people here and ask them what chatroom they think it is

@Hippalectryon Look to the right and up
:O mathematics

I thought it was the wat channel :O

@Hippalectryon What year are you in undergrad?

8:07 PM
Idk how you count years
When does it start, when does it end ?

Like first, second, third?

It's my second year in prep school

ah ok

8:18 PM
WAT

@BalarkaSen Is there something.... watty ?

The chat room just blew up.

Oy vey.

@BalarkaSen you're on the right :c

8:26 PM
ignores @Hippa

8:47 PM
I thought this was a mathematics chat room but I was wrong...
4
leaves

@sarah It used to be
Never @Alizter and @Khallil and I alone in a chatroom >:)

9:00 PM
Is prep school like undergrad, @Hippa?
Or do you go to prep school before starting undergraduate studies?

@Khallil How would I know ? How do you describe undergrad studies ?

Starting to study analysis and other stuff at a rigorous level.

That's vague -__-

I know!
That's because I'm not even an undergrad yet.

What is more, prep school is a generalist branch; we do maths, physics, chem, .....

9:06 PM
Oh, I see.
Age doesn't even matter when it comes to anything.

Then after prep school we have competitive exams
If we pass, then we have whatever school our ranking gives us access to
usually engineering schools/chemistry schools/comp sciences related schools/research universities/...

That's a pretty cool animation.
I like stuff like that.

I have lots of those

What's the significance of those?
They represent loci of points, don't they?

I'm not sure, I've not studied conics

9:20 PM
Ah, I see.

^ the meaning of math

9:43 PM
Loci and foci.

10:02 PM
Is the derivative of $$x-\frac{1}{2x}$$ $$1+\frac{2}{\sqrt{2x}}$$? I think I'm losing my mind

urmmmmm
@topper What's the derivative of $x^{-a}$ ?

$-ax^{-a-1}$
FFS

@topper So ? what's the derivative of $\dfrac{1}{2x}$ ?

$$-\frac{1}{2x^2}$$

10:10 PM
Yes... Believe it or not, first time round, I tried (and failed, clearly), to use the chain rule for the right term. I just did it with the divide rule and of course it worked, and $(2x)^-1$ works as well. I think this massive balls-up is a sign that I need sleep

Indeed

BUT NO! Another 50 minutes until 2am my time. Must...

:O
GO TO BED ლ(ಠ益ಠლ)

:)

Here let me throw you on your bed (╯°□°)╯︵(\ .o.)\

10:14 PM
Genuine LOL, thank you!
Chain rule for $\frac1{2x}$. Legend

10:29 PM
I've got a pretty neat question for you, @topper.

@Khallil I'm sunk with material here

What is the value of the following sum? $$ \sum_{n=1}^{\infty} 24^{n-1} \left( \dfrac{1}{5} \right)^{2n} $$
It's a nice geometric series question to get you thinking! You'll thank me later. ^_^

10:41 PM
Anyone still here ?

I'm still here, @Hippa!
Give that summation question a try.
It's really nice (and easy).

can someone integrate this for me please ,im stuck (p+p′′)2p′=a2b2⋅2p′p3 .and on integrating that person got this answer:- p4+p′2p2=−a2b2+p2⋅K .can some explain me please.

@Khallil Sorry, I have to stick to my syllabus. Counting in hours now, and I know if I just get a couple of new techniques under my belt, I might actually pass.

can someone please help me out here.

10:56 PM
'that person got this answer' ? uh ?
Who is 'that person' ?
@IceBoy @Khallil Please look at this it should be quick

Q: $(u_{2n})$,$(u_{2n+1})$,$(u_{3n+1})$ converge $\underset{???}{\Rightarrow}(u_n)$ converges

HippalectryonLet $(u_n)_{n_\in\mathbb{N}}\in\mathbb{C}^\mathbb{N}$. We know that $(u_{2n})$,$(u_{2n+1})$ and $(u_{3n+1})$ converge. The question is to know whether $(u_n)_{n_\in\mathbb{N}}$ converges. /!\ I am not looking for the detailed answer to this question, please do not post it. Something is bugg...

Nvm solved -__-

Ok, oh. I honestly couldn't have helped out at all.

Woot 4 upvotes :c
For that stupid question
Wow it's 1 AM here :c
