Also odd since there is no difference between that and if I look at the weak topology induced by a single function, $h_1$ for example

r9m
@Chris'ssis which one ?

@r9m double integral

r9m
@Chris'ssis II'll try later :-)

@r9m OK
I'm out for some sleep ...

12:20 AM
Rehi @Studentmath @DonLarynx

@Ted hi

Buon giorno, @Ted

it gets really cool at 1:10
and all this time i thought oscilloscopes sucked

haha

12:53 AM
That's it - I'm done with SO

Hi @AlecTeal
Stack Overflow is full of jerks!

Today's reason is stackoverflow.com/a/27595177/2112028 not being accepted or upvoted to hell, tard wants a bad design pattern, NO ONE corrects him.

Some people just want to watch the world burn
he just wants lists and lists
what happened to pen and paper, right?

r9m
1:18 AM
lhfs lhfs everywhere, not a dragon to slay ! -_-

lhfs?

r9m
@DonLarynx low hanging fruits (lhfs) means easy questions ! (sorry it was not a sensitive remark from my part .. I'm feeling dull :( .. -_-)

wow - no kidding

Differentiation under the integral sign is a useful operation in calculus. Formally it can be stated as follows: Theorem. Let f(x, t) be a function such that both f(x, t) and its partial derivative fx(x, t) are continuous in t and x in some region of the (x, t)-plane, including a(x) ≤ t ≤ b(x), x0 ≤ x ≤ x1. Also suppose that the functions a(x) and b(x) are both continuous and both have continuous derivatives for x0 ≤ x ≤ x1. Then for x0 ≤ x ≤ x1: This formula is the general form of the Leibniz integral rule and can be derived using the fundamental theorem of calculus. The [second] fundamental...

Greetings
$$\int _0^{\frac{\pi }{2}}\int _0^{\frac{\pi }{2}}\cos (x) \cos (y) \csc (x-y) \log \left(\frac{\sin (x)+\cos (x)}{\cos (x) \sec (y) (\sin (y)+\cos (y))}\right)dydx=\frac{\pi ^3}{16}+\frac{\pi ^2}{16}-G-\frac{1}{4} \pi \log (2)$$
Anyway, I have to go for now (some work to do). Back later on.

Huy
8:56 AM
Morning, @MichaelGreinecker.
@r9m: Why? ._.

@N3buchadnezzar I've already flagged one of them as a dup
@Chris'ssis This is not a warm greeting. I'm offended. :D
@Huy Guete morge

Huy
Guete Morge, @Venus.

@Huy The letter M must be a capital letter?

Huy
@Venus: There are no official spelling rules in Swiss German. So you can write it however you like.
@Venus: But in German, nouns are usually capitalised, which is why I often do the same in Swiss German.

@Huy OK, I'll use German style then

Huy
9:03 AM
Whatever you prefer, @Venus.

@Huy I hate the baby in your ava. He is not cute at all, can you change your ava? :P

Huy
@Venus: No, and I'm disappointed by your taste.

@Huy You're disappointing me :D

i can do integration now for fun

@Huy Will you gather with your family on Xmas?

Huy
9:07 AM
@Venus: We'll have dinner together, I think.

@Huy How lovely...

But I can't do deriviation

Huy
@Venus: You?

@Huy I'll gather with my brothers & sisters

Huy
How many of them do you hav e?

9:09 AM
No one talks to the beginnerrrr
venus is meant to tell me integral problem to do :)
Jasper is back like they sid he would be hehe

Morning too, @Huy

@Huy Why don't you ping me?

Huy
@Venus: I must have forgotten.

Who is Michael?

I have 156 as far as I remember

Huy
9:13 AM
@Venus: Are you sure we mean the same by brother and sister?

What is the cube root of $-8000i$?

@Huy 'brothers & sisters' :-)

I have 11 but wint say what base

Huy
@Venus: I don't think it is physically possible for you to have 156.

Can anyone read this????

9:17 AM
@Huy :-)

9:35 AM
@DonLarynx Collatz cannot really be handled by hard-core analytic number theory; Terence Tao is just a harmonic analyst.
The recent developments in probabilistic number theory brings up connection with stuff like ergodic number theory, and those stuff are presumably the way to go with Collatz.
it's a completely ergodic problem.

Huy
@Ashwin: I've seen this video before.

@Huy LOL

The questions are crampy, once again.

Huy
Then ask some good ones, @BalarkaSen.

9:43 AM
I answer, not ask.
I want to answer my own questions.

Huy
Go ahead.
Post your own questions and answer them.

:P
nah

Oh man @Committingtoachallenge

10:29 AM
@DanielFischer Bill seems to be quite against you becoming a mod.
I don't see his points, is he saying that purely crappy questions should be kept open?
why??

@BalarkaSen Yes. We two have different ideas about many things.

He is not being reasonable here. If he feels having you as a mod would be destructive to the community, why didn't he nominate himself as a candidate?

@BalarkaSen He once was a moderator. It didn't work out well. To the point that it is questionable whether a nomination of him would have been accepted at all.

No wonder it didn't.
Seriously, people should stop imposing (but not expressing) personal opinions on the community. "Since SE has still not figured out how to competently run an election..." That's HIS opinion, the community apparently feels the other way, seeing the participation of so many users.
And if he got so many complaints about the SE community, why did he ever came back?

@BalarkaSen Because his "better platform", which he keeps mentioning, is not yet available. Maybe at some time there will be a site more suited to Bill's ideas, maybe not.

10:44 AM
Back.
@Venus :-)

10:54 AM
@BalarkaSen Seeing his rep & contribution here, a man like him obviously has a big ego
@Chris'ssis I've seen it above, but I don't think I can tackle this one. Do you have an approach?

@Venus 3 approaches

@Venus That is very mean.

@Chris'ssis So do you have 3? Could you give me the simplest one?

@Venus I'll let you think of it for a while. It's too nice to only tell you the way.

@HatMan My chat above is full of admiration for his achievement here

10:57 AM
And "obviously has a big ego"?

r9m
@Chris'ssis I'm done with it ! Very sweet !! :-) and 3 for me as well ! (although the orthogonal transforms are all infact equivalent ,.. depends on how you change the double integrals :3)

@r9m Nice!!! :-)

@Chris'ssis Haha, I'm busy for Xmas, I don't think I have time to evaluate it :D
@HatMan That's a compliment

@r9m How long is your best proof?

@Venus Err.. I took it the wrong way. Sorry.

10:59 AM
@Venus OK :D

r9m
@Chris'ssis scratches head .. I had to make quite a bit of calculations ^^' I'll add it to my blog I think (it's a nice problem) .. oh ! do I have your permission ? (I'll add if you don't have plans for it in your army of 300 :D)

@r9m OK

Hey @r9m how're your studies?

@r9m Do you have a blog?

r9m
@BalarkaSen I'm partying for the last 3 days !! No studies !!!! :D I dance day and night ! It's christmas time :D

11:02 AM
haha. are you not doing analytic number theory anymore?

@r9m I think I'll add it to my book. If you insist to post it there, it's OK. It's just a blog. :-)
@r9m I have a mind blowing proof. Everything is done in a very fast way (in one of the solutions).

r9m
@Venus OO .. you haven't visited my m.se profile then ?! not even once ? :( X( ??!!

@r9m Sorry, sorry. I thought it's @Chris'ssis' blog. I know you have a blog :-)

r9m
@BalarkaSen umm .. I was reading sieves a fer days ago .. but not much I guess (just gentle reading on advanced topics)

what kind of sieves?

r9m
11:05 AM
@Chris'ssis Awesome :D !!

I've never studied anything other than Brun sieves.

r9m
@BalarkaSen Brun-Titchmarsh , Selberg, large .. that's all I have read bits about :)

@Venus I'm curious to see the way @M.N.C.E. tackle it. I don't mention @robjohn again.

@r9m Your blog hasn't been supported $\LaTeX$ yet.
@Chris'ssis Ask him

What's a Titchmarsh sieve, @r9m?
Never heard of it.

r9m
11:07 AM
@BalarkaSen ugh ! sorry its the Brun-Titchmarsh sieve

@Chris'ssis No?

@DanielFischer by the way, do you enjoy the double integrals like the one above?

oh aha

@robjohn I mean, I already told you about it. That was what I meant. I'd be curious to see the way you tackle it. :-)

@r9m Why does the $\LaTeX$ not render immediately when I visit your blog?

11:08 AM
@Chris'ssis Occasionally, but usually, that's not my type of thing.

I find combinatorial number theory very boring @r9m

@Chris'ssis okay... I am not sure I know which problem you're talking about, but I'll take your word for it. :-)

r9m
@Venus 'I thought it's @Chris'ssis' blog.' - BLEGHHH ! X( whaddya mean by that ? huh ?!
@Venus use robjohn's latex in chat thing :)

@DanielFischer OK

@r9m I didn't see who sent the chat. I thought it Chris'ssis

r9m
11:10 AM
@BalarkaSen TAKE A HIKE SON !!

@Chris'ssis Ah, yes. You said you had a nice way to show that and that you were working on a second. Did you get the second? Have you posted the first?

dunno what ya mean by that @r9m

@robjohn I have 3 ways. I didn't post any yet. It's too nice (the problem I mean) to post it now. I'm very curious to see the way the other people approach it.

@Chris'ssis That leaves more of them for you ;)

@r9m I did, but how to render the latex immediately without using robjohn code?

11:11 AM
@DanielFischer :-)))

@r9m you could just copy the same link that is on the ChatJax installation page to your page. It works on the installation page, so it will probably work on your blog page, too.

r9m
@Venus I have no idea .. wordpress.com won't let me use any external package ! :( you have to click it manually everytime ..

@Chris'ssis is the question posted somewhere, or just on chat?

r9m
@robjohn I tried ,., but it doesn't :O

@robjohn It's created by me, I created it yesterday when I also posted it.

11:13 AM
@Chris'ssis yes, but that doesn't mean you haven't posted it.

r9m
@BalarkaSen it means I beg to differ dear ;)

@robjohn Yes, I posted it in chat yesterday if you meant that. I also posted more advanced versions.

weird way to say that

@r9m See Terry Tao's blog, the tex immediately render once you visit the blog

shrug

r9m
11:14 AM
@Venus I can use wp's latex format .. but it does not look cool ! :(

@robjohn Why do you ask? Have you ever seen this one in other parts? This probability tends to $0$ I think.

r9m
okay .. time to do some digging :D

It's a pretty advanced integral and it came from my research. I mean one cannot simply find such a thing out of the blue.
@r9m :-))))))
The integral is devil itself if it's not approached properly.

@r9m How to write blog that support latex like your blog? Did you just type the equation using latex like here?

r9m
@Chris'ssis no no .. that was not meant for your problem :o .. I was looking at a problem in main

11:19 AM
@r9m I know you believe that all my work is authentic beyond jokes. ;)

r9m
@Chris'ssis Absolutely !! O:-)

@r9m I was thinking of what happens at 100,000 hours of practice ... :-)))
@r9m I wonder how many hours of practice Ramanujan had before publishing that stuff ... His wife said in a documentary that he was attending series all day long (or something like that).

r9m
@Chris'ssis 10,000 makes you a master ! any more beyond that point usually does not make a lot of difference ;)

@r9m hmmm, not sure. Maybe you might become at a certain point the master of the masters. :-)

r9m
@Chris'ssis quite possible ! ;) :D

11:31 AM
@robjohn What's an easy way to show that the invertible matrices are dense in the set of all matrices ? (norm wise)

r9m
Shameless advertisement of my Bounty($100+$) ! please help :)
@robjohn @DanielFischer @Chris'ssis senseis please help :) ^

@r9m (+1)

r9m
@Chris'ssis thanks :) but I could do very little ! the main problem still remains :O

@r9m there are a few things that a 20K reputation allows that 10K does not.
@r9m I'll take a look :-)

r9m
@robjohn Thanks !!!!!! :D
@robjohn I was talking about hours of practice :) but I think I know what you mean ! :-)

11:42 AM
@math110 Can you answer this one (inequality problem)?

r9m
@Venus :D !! I'd ping Macavity too if I could .. but sadly he's never been to this chat :(

@r9m We had conversation in this chat room yesterday & two days ago. You can ping him if you want

r9m
@Venus Macavity ?! :O link please

@r9m No, I meant math110
Who's Macavity?

r9m
@Venus check his answers ! u'll see he has his way around inequalities ! :D

12:09 PM
@r9m Why did you announced bounty?

Afternoon all!

Good day!

How are you, @skull? ^_^
Rikudou Sennin (@r9m). Tips Fedora

Fine thank you @KhallilBenyattou how are you doing?

I'm doing okay! The plan for today is to get some work done and there's a 20% chance I'll execute it with major flaws. The other 80% goes to me watching YouTube videos, playing FIFA and not getting much done at all, @skull. =P

12:14 PM
^_^
:D

@robjohn let me know if you ever see some of my questions posted on main by other users (just in case).
I rarely look at the questions posted on main.

@Chris'ssis afaik, no one posts your problem on the main

@Chris'ssis stackexchange.com/filters this could help

I still need an elegant way for this problem of mine, anyone?

@Chris'ssis Except venus :D

12:28 PM
@Integrator No, I've never posted her problems on the main

@Venus What is the hard part there? I thought you can finish it. It's an easy question, really! Just work on it!

@Chris'ssis Elegant way, not brute force one

@Venus :P

Q: How do you tell when someone is being mean or reducing your score for legitimate reasons

Larry FreemanI recently noticed that 4 of my questions now have a -1 vote. Up to now, I've been deleting the questions as soon as they go to -1. Even though I put in a good amount of time to make the question as clear as possible and responded to each comment, I was willing to delete them if they are truly ...

@Integrator @Venus can you help me with this question?? math.stackexchange.com/questions/1075819/…

man
[link](link)
the whole chat blew up

12:31 PM
@BalarkaSen i'm extremely sorry

@BalarkaSen Why am I seeing Balarka's comment?

why should you not, @Integrator?

@Venus For a small bounty I'd write up the whole solution :-))))))) (that means to give up my work :-( )

@user153330 I don't think so. That's not kind of problems that I like to answer because of lack of my knowledge

@BalarkaSen Maybe ignore feature doesn't work!
Trying again!

12:33 PM
not my fault if you can't even ignore correctly

@Chris'ssis Haha, we'll see :-)

Game Over!

What up, @Balarka?

Nothing. What about you, @Khallil?

@Venus hahaha :-)))))))) By the way, I'm very confident you can finish it EASILY.

12:34 PM
Not much either! Is there any reason as to why @Integrator ignored you, @Balarka?

yes, @Khallil. i'll eat him up if he doesn't.
i am an anti-integrator.

@Chris'ssis I do (not easily), but I'm asking an elegant one

@KhallilBenyattou He is Anti-Integrator

@Venus Yeah, also elegant.

Haha, @Integrator!
You remind me of this, @BalarkaSen!

12:36 PM
what the hell is that @Khallil

Gluttony from Fullmetal Alchemist!

oh ok, never seen it

He's the physical embodiment of gluttony. ^_^

@user153330 Why don't you give a bounty for that question? I'm sure there's someone here will answer it

12:49 PM
Is there a specific reason for using $\times$ in the Cartesian product?
I thought it was to represent that in 2D space, $A \times B$ represents a rectangle that contains all the points in $A \times B$ and in 3D space, $A \times B \times C$ represents the oblong that houses all the points in $A \times B \times C$.
Does that seem ok?
(So long as $A, B, C \in \mathbb{R}$)

Huy
1:18 PM
@Venus: What are you up to today? I'm terribly bored and too lazy to start studying.

@Huy I have a date in a few minutes ^^

@huy and @Venus should go on a date with each other.

Huy
@Venus: I see. Have fun!

r9m
@Integrator I couldn't finish the answer on my own and I think its an interesting problem that requires a bit of attention ^_^ (especially because I have additional queries about the question which I added in my bounty detail) ..
@KhallilBenyattou :P LOL

Don't do anything your parents wouldn't do, @Venus. =P

r9m
1:30 PM
@KhallilBenyattou oi ! thats nasty (-_-)

It's a joke!

r9m
@KhallilBenyattou and its nasty ! =P

@KhallilBenyattou I do not understand the joke.

Huy
@r9m: 2 looks around (<_<) ... (>_>) okay Huy ain't here .. - 11h ago by r9m
???? what's that supposed to mean :(

r9m
@Huy plain as day light .. lol

Huy
1:36 PM
???

I saw that cheeky edit, @r9m!

r9m
@KhallilBenyattou :P lol

Sorry if I offended you, @Venus!
Have fun!

Huy
do you want to marry her, @r9m ???

r9m
@Huy nah man ,. even I know I'm not a marriage material .. do you ? :-)

Huy
1:38 PM
why do you know ur not marriage material?

r9m
@Huy for various reasons that I'd not want to explain on this chatroom ! :P

Huy
ok

r9m
@Huy your depth of search queries take exponential leaps when you ask sth about her ! does that mean you are interested in her ?! :-)

Huy
@r9m I'm not sure how you mean that

r9m
@Huy do you know her in real life ? ;)

Huy
1:46 PM
no, do you?

r9m
@Huy nope ;) neither do I .. !

@r9m I don't see anything yet, but it looks pretty hard.

r9m
@robjohn I am struggling with it for months now !! :(
@robjohn the factor $\log 2$ .. I can't see any idea at all :(

I have to go do some things for work now... BBL

r9m
@robjohn :) bye
