10:11 PM
hi @Charlie

hi @Charlie
@robjohn Are you around?

@Argon Yep :-)

@robjohn Could you explain yesterday's contour?

@Argon I am writing it up right now :-)

Yay!

10:19 PM
@Argon Hi!
@OldJohn Hi john!

@Charlie :)

@GraceNote You're here all the time now. Hmn.

Crazy - 5 badges today

Hi.

@GustavoBandeira Not really.

10:22 PM
@OldJohn Not a bad day's work!

@Argon And mostly all down to one daft answer!

@Argon yay!

@Charlie Hehe!!

@Argon :D

@GraceNote Yes, you are. I can see you even when you're invisible.

10:23 PM
@OldJohn wow!
@Argon wassup Aaron?

@Charlie Insanely, I have had 102 upvotes on one answer today - and all I did was recount a failure of logic by one of my students years ago

"Invisible" just means I have an instance in the room. Whether I'm actually sticking around in here is a different question. For example, I hadn't been in here for the entire weekend.

@OldJohn Great John!

@GraceNote No, invisible means no one can see you, but I can.

I see.

10:26 PM
@Charlie I'm watching "Tomorrow Never Dies"

@GraceNote So, you're a supremme moderator?

I'm a Community Coordinator.

@GraceNote But are you able to ban robjohn, for example?

* gasp *!
:)

Well, any moderator could suspend robjohn.

10:28 PM
@Argon hmmm good!

He can even suspend himself.

@Charlie Seen it?

@Argon who did not?

:)

@GraceNote but he could also unsuspend himself too, I suspect (and hope)

10:29 PM
It won't do any good, though. As a moderator, he gets all his privileges without concern for reputation or suspension status, so not only can he still do things normally but he can also just unsuspend himself.

@Argon ;)

@Charlie James Bond is the best

@Charlie, when you have a car on a track, and know the force of friction and wight of car

@Argon yes... I wanted an Aston Martin and tuxedo
@Link yes

you just need to do friction/weight to get coeffiecnt of friction?
circular track...

10:30 PM
@Link if i'm not wrong $F_{at}= \mu N$ right?

@GraceNote How's life going?
@Charlie Fat!

hmm, yes

@Link it's a circular movement?

Not bad. I'm about to step away a bit though

@Argon I like his watch too... and his gun...HEy! have you ever played Goldeneye?

@Argon HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

@Charlie, no the track is just circular the car is on.

@GraceNote Step away from life? Entering in comma?

Summat like that.

@Charlie I only played two James Bonds game ever. One was on a N64 (I forget which game :() the other was the Quantum of Solace game

10:33 PM

@Argon you like video games?

@Charlie Not especially. I don't have any consoles or anything, but I play at friends houses

@Argon ohh...

@Charlie I presume you are a gamer? :)

@Charlie HAHA I remember there was oen guy, a giant, who used to dibble people and it was impossible to get out HAHAH!

@GraceNote How do you plan to do that?

I think the last time I played a computer game was Dungeon Master back in the 80's ...

@Argon goro?

10:42 PM
@OldJohn Crysis in the 80's.

@OldJohn My dad tells me about how he used to play a Star Trek game - and it printed out what happened whenever you did something!
@Charlie Maybe. I don't remember anymore. It was fun, hahaha

@Argon I like sub-zero and Noob saibot

leo
I do not play too often though

@OldJohn He used to use an IBM System 360 in highschool, I think

@Argon I used a time-shared PDP8 at university - 15 people using one computer with a hard-drive (or drum) of smaller capacity than the smallest pendrive you could buy 10 years ago :(
a bit like this

10:49 PM
@OldJohn Before they had a computer at my dad's highschool, they apparently got someone to go to another nearby school that had a computer to run the code after school. The next day, everyone got the results of the code!

and explain what this line is doing: Now v = 2*pi*L*sin(theta)/t circumference divided by period

Note m drops out leaving g*tan(theta) = 4*pi^2*L*sin(theta)/t^2
about halfway down.

@Argon yep - and the code might have been on punched cards

@OldJohn They were! In fact, I found lots and lots of old cards with his programs! :)

@Argon It was bloody annoying if you dropped a pack of cards - each card was one line of the program, so you had to sort them back into the precise order :(

hehe :)

10:52 PM
damn, seems like a pain.
@Charlie, can you explain it?

11:11 PM
nvm.
got it

We're all gonna die!

Would someone else roll back one of this guy's questions? He seems to think that now that his questions are answered he should delete the body of the questions. I've already rolled back one of them, but I don't want to do that for all of them.

@PeterTamaroff what is it, PETER??? SAY!!!!
