Q: So I am trying to remember an old game but I cannot seem to recall any information?

It was a game that had ninjas but the art style mirrored that of Mario and Pokemon in the late 80's and early 90's for SNES, NES or gameboy. A lot of people are probably going to say Ninja Gaiden but the art style isn't close to what I remember and it didn't quite play like Ninja Gaiden either
