I can build items there e.g. 10 tier 1 items and get gold but surely it's a bug? I definitely didn't cheat, I wouldn't even know how...
@DavidM Eh, a lot of what people call ice is just hardpack in my experience.
I'm with you on short runs though; you've gotta really hit up Vermont/NH/Maine to get to a mountain with enough vertical to really provide a nice satisfying trip down.
@MBraedley That's something I'd be willing to do again. I probably wouldn't do downhill skiing anymore because I'm too afraid of getting more head injuries.
@DavidM 2 were accidents in middle school (slipping on ice, gym class), the ones after that were circumstances I don't feel super comfortable discussing here. The last one I had was Jan. 2010, which took me more than a month to recover from. I couldn't even read for the first week.

Most concussion injuries are due to the brain slapping up against the inside of the skull following a rapid deceleration either due to a blow to the head or high speed collision.
@RedRiderX Which isn't to say that heading isn't also a big problem, but a bigger problem is either direct collisions on the field, or goaltenders diving for a ball and getting just straight up kicked in the face.
@LessPop_MoreFizz I actually get really nervous about everyday normal stuff like going up/down stairs because I'm afraid I'm going to fall and hit my head again. :(
@DavidM Not yet. It's for like, emergency panic attacks, not everyday stuff. She only prescribed me 5 pills for now because we don't know how I'll react.
@FAE It's a good drug for you, too. It has a stabilizing effect on the brain in many ways. I'm actually surprised that they didn't try to put you on a low dose of clonazepam or something.
@DavidM She wants to encourage non-medicated coping mechanisms as much as possible for this because of the whole addictive quality of that class of drugs, which I'm fine with, as I'm kind of phobic of physical addiction. I'm usually able to handle the panic attacks okay with the plans I have in place, but lately they've been worse, so we're trying this out.
I'm pretty happy with my care over here, in general. I have a good therapist and psychiatrist, my insurance covers all of it, and it just really feels like they care about you getting better here.
@Frank I've volunteered for a medical study for a self-esteem group therapy thing (it's comparing self-esteem vs. mindfulness groups and the effectiveness thereof) that's going to start in March. I'm nervous, as I haven't done group therapy in over 10 years.
@FAE I've actually been working through it solo, and I'm making some really good progress. The classes are to help reinforce what I've already learned and help if I ever go off the rails again.
@DavidM Yeah, I'm just nervous because it's a group thing and also in my non-native language, and it's harder for me to properly explain my emotions and thought processes in Dutch than in English.
@FAE That sounds reasonable. But, if you find that it isn't working for you, consider finding an English speaking group. I have to imagine that there are enough English speakers in the Netherlands that this is possible.
@DavidM Well, part of the self-esteem issues I struggle with is my level of Dutch proficiency, so it's kind of a good hurdle for me to try to get over anyway. I'm just, yeah, nervous.
At first, phrase them out in English. And, then try to translate. As you become more familiar with the vocabulary set, it will flow more easily from you.
@FAE The best thing about this type of group is that they are going to be supportive of you. Most of the native speakers will have trouble expressing their emotions, too. Everyone has barriers.
