@GnomeSlice Again, the issue is not the inauguration attendance really. It's the fact that the Trump administration 1) tried to mislead everyone about the attendance numbers and 2) tried mislead everyone about the fact that they tried misleading people about the attendance numbers.

I mean, if they didn't say that they had a bigger turnout than Obama, followed up by "alternative facts", nobody would have cared.

also I doubt that a large majority of inauguration attenders are local DC residents, but I don't have polling or anything to back that up

Rather than just Trump not being popular in DC and therefore less people showing up to his inauguration.
