@Jason Berkan This is a case of straw that broke the camels back, in general I have found the community here to be very unwelcoming compared to other SE communities and the restrictions on question types seem to restrict them purely to things I could answer with a google/wiki/GameFAQs.com search instead. I have cancelled all my tag subscriptions to the site and will instead participate in other Q&A communities where I actually feel welcome — RobV 56 mins ago

THis is too painful but where will I get my extra damage now? :/

The idea is that then it would just be an endless cycle.

If I could keep voting to close a question, and others could keep voting to re-open.. it would be pointless.

@LessPop_MoreFizz I did one of these missions during the beta weekends and it was really really cool. Some guildmates and I worked together to solve it and it very nearly sold me on the game. Ultimately decided to wait until it goes F2P though, especially seeing as GW2's got a release date now.

I think this question is fine, even if it's not excellent, and I disagree adamantly with assertions that it's "The same as 'why did they design it that way' questions". This question isn't asking why the feature is standard in the industry. The exact history of the feature is (probably) not doc...

@GnomeSlicE You are wrong.. I have not voted on it nor will I. But when I had finished reading the post it had just a single upvote on it and nothing else. You have a right to be somewhat paranoid around here man, but I still think you would find things going smoother for you if you simply stopped acting on it, even when justified.

@StrixVaria I completely agree that questions about 'why something is standard practice' aren't terribly constructive on the site. Those wouldn't be constructive on GameDev either.
