Q: What games are similar to Knights and Merchants?

I love Knights and Merchants http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Knights_and_Merchants:_The_Shattered_Kingdom, was wondering if there's any game that's similar to this? I know Caesar, Emperor, Rome: Total War might be similar, but I'm looking for something that's cartoony and simple.

It's going to be a disappointing email anyway, turns out I'm an idiot

So TF2 people: My friend asked me if I'd give him my Bill's Hat, because someone he knows will give him a "unusual" spy hat in exchange for one. I don't really even play TF2 anymore so I have no idea what that means.

Important thing is to get your email address to Brett so he can continue correspondence with you and I won't need to develop even worse consequences for the future.

So, uh, what does all that mean?

Platinum for people who owned it before it came out, Gold for people who bought it within 3 months of launch, Silver for owning it within 9 months of launch, and Bronze for everyone else.

Max's Severed Head and Bill's Hat are also currencies.

Max's Severed Head is worth about 3 Earbuds, and Bill's Hat is worth about half of an Earbud.

Usability of a currency is defined as a function of rarity and quantity.

The other currencies are Keys and Metal. Anyone can create Metal from items they have, so it's unstable.

Because anyone can produce metal, it's constantly going down in value.

Earbuds are actually pretty good as a currency. There's a large, but fixed number in circulation.

So, essentially, keys are the base of the economy now, with Bill's Hat, Earbuds, and Max's Severed Head as larger denominations.

There was only one hat I ever wanted, but I stopped playing before trading was enabled.
