I think this might be the first time that I do not care about a new final fantasy game. first mario, then zelda, now final fantasy? what the heck is wrong with me :(

@RonanForman Protip: Treat Psychonauts like one of those old RPG's where you talk to everyone and explore everywhere. Because the humor is worth it.

I can't keep the numbers straight past 10, since they started mixing MMOs in. I think the last one on the PS2 was good, but 6 was the height of the series interest for me. this last one (12? 13?) was a rotting pile of crap that destroyed any faith I have in the series

@agent86 and yeah, 6 was the height of my interest. 7 was the last one I eagerly anticipated, and after the let down my interest started to decline.

8 was the one that destroyed my faith in the series. I gave them a second chance with 9, since they promised it would be a 'return to form', and 9 was decent, but it wasn't anything fantastic. I played 10 and 12 when I saw them cheap based on reviews, and they were non-terrible, but nothing terribly special. I stayed very very very far away from 13.

wind waker was just too large an overworld with too little content

the hyrule field in ocarina of time was big and empty, and not much fun, and it's like they took that and scaled it to an insane degree

Skyward sword has some nice "WTF ... you don't mean... so this... is..." moments (in a good way), with the biggest being the spoiler revelation about zelda. (that was a mind = blown for me.)
