How to look at all the edit-suggestion-panel-things on some wiki? Like a list of the panels that say "Master Qui-Gon, more to say, have you?" or "We're Doomed!" here and here.
I'm just curious as to what all the possible issues are (and their respective quotes)
random question: anyone know if there's a question here/source elsewhere for restricted-source competition tips? (Splitting up ASCII's got me pretty frustrated... :P)
Because any useful tips will depend on specific questions. I don't think there many "general purpose" tips other than don't use whatever is restricted by the challenge.
So I want to do some metagolfing for Ziim. I thought I'd start by trying to find the fewest number of operations to form a (bit) string. The operations are "create {0}", "bitwise not" (destructive), "concatenate" (destructive) and "duplicate".
Without the duplication it's fairly trivial, but I feel like the duplication doesn't even allow dynamic programming. Say I've got a string of 16 bits and I know how to build the first 8 bits most efficiently and the last 8 bits as well. Now I can't just take those lists of commands and concatenate the results. Because by making use of both of them, I might be able to save a bunch of operations in one string by duplicating an intermediate result in the other.
I have no clue if there's still a way to tackle it with DP or similar, but currently I have no better idea than brute force. :/
@PeterTaylor ^ if anyone knows a solution off the top of their head, it's probably you ;)
