Q: I broke logins to my server by fiddling with /etc/passwd and /etc/shadow

KristoferI am running an Ubuntu Server (with ebox/zentyal installed). I believe it uses a combination of LDAP users and local users but I currently cannot login (through ssh) with any of them. Q: Charm parameters configured at deployment

Bruno PereiraI am creating a juju charm that need to have parameters passed to the configuration upon deployment. I have looked around and I know you can use juju deploy <charm> --config="key:value;key2:value2" but I cannot figure out where do those fit in to while creating the charm it self. How can ...

@wisemonkey :-(

wow that means u can't get those privileges again no matter wat ur rep is ?? :-o

Oli
11:21 PM
@wisemonkey No, it means you won't get those privs back until you meet the requirements again.

ohh well not very bad in that case

errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.........................
hi.

jrg
@Oli yeah, i lost my 2K privs when i had a rep recalc.
so, you don't keep them.

"rep recalc" < scary

jrg

@jrg you will be able to use both

jrg
@BrunoPereira i know.
it's just the thought of having a root password makes me want to kill kittens for some reason. :P

Bounty offered: How to change the login (gdm) font and font-size? http://t.co/x21aL2k1 #fonts

I mean, you need to admit got root? sounds better than got sudo?

jrg

@BrunoPereira lol yeah
fedora's installer is ugly.

11:29 PM
@GeorgeEdison I will tell you how! Someone clicked on the upvote button!
@jrg how dare you!

Q: Differences Between 10.04 and 11.10

MrHappyGoLucky12I have no experience with Linux. I bought a book (Beginner's Guide) but it is for 10.04. Should I download 10.04 so it matches the book or use 11.10 with the book, assuming they are pretty similar?

jrg
not sure that is a real question.

someone actually used interwebs in an answer

jrg
@BrunoPereira install complete.

@BrunoPereira it could have a real answer if someone put forth the effort...

@jrg must contain hate for ppl that have faster computers then me

jrg
11:41 PM
I started it here - chat.stackexchange.com/transcript/message/2495324#2495324 and ended here - chat.stackexchange.com/transcript/message/2495531#2495531 (so about 15 minutes) - machine specs are 1GB ram, 1.6GHZ CPU. :P

@jrg I think it took about 8 mins for me to install fedora...

@TheX agreed, bu what to comment on that answer? fow xizlee bro?

jrg

11:43 PM
Oh well he will find out in about 3 mins...

Lol.
I've got to fix StackApplet now.
