When resuming an edit in Gedit, the ibus daemon flares up, abusing the CPU for a short while. This happens every time lately. All that's needed is to switch windows back to Gedit and resume editing. Then the CPU usage spikes for a moment before going back down. I would expect that the correct behavir is for the CPU usage to stay low, no matter the activity in Gedit.
top has the following, sometimes even higher use, but it's very hard to catch since it happens for only a moment:
PID USER PR NI VIRT RES SHR S %CPU %MEM TIME+ COMMAND

What does it mean, when iwconfig doesn't find (i.e. report) an internal wireless adapter, while lshw says it to be UNCLAIMED?
If the adapter is in loose connection to the PCI or whatever it should be connected to, can lshw still find (i.e. report) it?

I'm using Ubuntu 12.04 (I think it's desktop...) and can successfully run vncserver (which ultimately links to /usr/bin/vnc4server) and connect with my client, and I can also add the -geometry flag and connect to it. However, the server doesn't start when I add the randr flag like in this example...

@IonicăBizău I'm probably going to stick with 14.04 and use the "hardware enablement" versions of the Kernel and X. And I'll probably move to a PPA for KDE5 when it's finally functional enough.
I also have 14.04 servers so keeping everything pre-systemd for as long as possible is going to be helpful for my sanity.
@Seth this question is edited. and dependencies is removed! & added "after adding a PPA" in title. see revisions Is it ok? I'm discussing this because Many questions are linked/refereed to this question (also voted number of dups of this) So, this revisions are OK? #@mods

@Rinzwind Did you install it on a laptop? I installed it on a PC since alpha release, but not on my laptop (that I use in production). I'm afraid there will appear issues (e.g. suspend when I close the lid etc).
@KasiyA good good good :) we got a storm today like we never had in Holland. well... 1953 was worse (with the flooding) but we had flood warnings today.
Well I know people are dying but I'm furious because I just cleaned the garden up last week and this wind has come along and blown all the leaves everywhere.
I'm using Ubuntu 12.04 (I think it's desktop...) and running vncserver to connect to it remotely. I can successfully set the resolution if I use the -geometry flag when starting the server, but I can't get it to change the default so I don't have to set the flag every time. The manual suggests to...

Stack Exchange is a network of question and answer websites on diverse topics in many different fields, each site covering a specific topic, where questions, answers, and users are subject to a reputation award process. The sites are modeled after Stack Overflow, a forum for computer programming questions that was the original site in this network. The reputation system is designed to allow the sites to be self-moderating.

In 2008, Jeff Atwood and Joel Spolsky created Stack Overflow, a question-and-answer Web site for computer programming questions, which they described as a...
After the last update I did, last night the 22, there is pink highlights everywhere. I don't have any options selected to show pink in appearance and it was all working great before the updates. I tried deleting my settings and it still shows up. I do have some third party repos enabled but nothing that I would think would change my appearance like this. I'm willing to offer any info you need. I've posted 3 example images here: http://oceighty.co/bug/

Fuchsia (/ˈfjuːʃə/, FEW-shə) is a vivid purplish red color, named after the flower of the fuchsia plant, which took its name from the 16th century German botanist Leonhart Fuchs.
The color fuchsia was first introduced as the color of a new aniline dye called fuchsine, patented in 1859 by the French chemist Francois-Emmanuel Verguin. Its name was changed the same year to magenta, to celebrate a victory of the French army at the Battle of Magenta on June 4, 1859, near the Italian city of that name.
In the RGB color model, used to create colors on computers and television screens, and in web colors...
Many times in using general color names in communication, i.e. Red and Green, users are confused when the color is a non-pure form of the color.
