k
I removed the border altogether on messages
see how you like it
OK, I need to find a Spanish blog entry that fits under one of these categories:
Global Issues
Communication and Media
Social Relations
I have no idea what to look for

So many css elements...
body { /*body background*/
  background-color: #333 !important;
  background-image: none;
}
that is the most important one.

yeah

The rest would be minor adaptions...

keep background-image as none. The search page uses a weird textured image
Links are orange now. Refresh and tell me what you think

It's 2AM here though, I'm too tired to dig through 200+ lines of CSS.

12:05 AM
lol
it's not too much :p
you can search

The orange looks nice.

I'm trying it now without the !important tag to see if some already specified colors stick
AHA
I like that better

Wow, Firefox is really getting unresponsive now...

@KazWolfe yes

And I need to do sleep

seth = sith

there, have another two goats
@edwinksl @Seth was an ancient Egypt deity, you know?

yayz

Set /sɛt/ or Seth (/sɛθ/; also spelled Setesh, Sutekh, Setekh, or Suty) is a god of the desert, storms, disorder, violence and foreigners in ancient Egyptian religion. In Ancient Greek, the god's name is given as Sēth (Σήθ). Set is not, however, a god to be ignored or avoided; he has a positive role where he is employed by Ra on his solar boat to repel the serpent of Chaos Apep. Set had a vital role as a reconciled combatant. He was lord of the red (desert) land where he was the balance to Horus' role as lord of the black (soil) land. In Egyptian mythology, Set is portrayed as the usurper who killed...

oh dear

12:57 AM
that explains a lot

:p

this is fun:

Okay, g'night guys.

I'm practicing porting them to ubuntu phone - although it looks like most the code is provieded "for educational purposes" no distribution...
maybe some of them can be will have to read each one
but good practice

Q: Cuda remove NVidia Drivers

scottjsI have been trying to install Cuda for GPU computing with Theano and Tensorflow and it's been incredibly frustrating to say the least. I've tried many methods, all with a fresh install of Ubuntu 14.04, and my most successful attempts have been following these links: http://askubuntu.com/questions...

1:31 AM
MetaSE is pretty inactive
everything is pretty inactive

y u impatient

Hi all :D

sigh

hi

@Zacharee1 your script is very nice :) I am using it.

1:32 AM
@SeverusTux thanks :)

yo @RobotHumans is here, how are things

woah, people using zach's rootkit-in-disguise dark theme

lelel

all your sudo are belong to me

yeeesss

1:34 AM
Is there any way I can make a firefox shortcut to enable and disable this feature ? (It would be better to have this feature during night / dim light) @Zacharee1

@NathanOsman you here?

Yup.

@SeverusTux Tampermonkey has a widget that lets me enable and disable the extension. Idk about Greasemonkey, but I think they're similar enough
@NathanOsman can you help with analytics for my script?

Analytics?
You mean tracking pings or something like that?

As in how many people are using my script
Some sort of two way ping

1:36 AM
What programming language?
Also, this:
...fresh out of iMovie :D

lol, just watched it ;)
then re-watched his win 98 review ;)

Subscribers get an advantage :D

@NathanOsman JS

@Zacharee1 No, on the server.

oh

1:39 AM
Unless you're using Node :P

@NathanOsman george lost???????????

well idk
I don't even have a server....

@edwinksl Trust me, he was really miserable for a couple days after that.

lol
@NathanOsman IMOVIE????

I used to use Kdenlive for the videos but it had both performance and stability issues.

1:42 AM
you have Mac?

That being said, here's an Easter Egg - the confetti was created in Blender and composited in Kdenlive.
@Zacharee1 Yes.
Just a Mac Mini.

ew :p

I can't stand it for much else other than iMovie.

get the $10k Mac Pro

Ouch.

1:44 AM
that hasn't been updated since 2013
So @NathanOsman, are you willing to host the ping thing (:p) on your server?

You haven't told me what language yet.

well what's good?
PHP? :p

@Zacharee1 pinging without user permission ? don't do that. At least some warning like "Do you wish to send anonymous data to XXX to improve user experience ... etc.." is essential

@SeverusTux however @NathanOsman does it with his is what I want to do

1:49 AM
yup

Hm.. as a Stallman follower , I feel quite uneasy about this. idk about others . @Zacharee1 @NathanOsman

@Zacharee1 what is this ping thing?

this is cool, this guy put together a what not to do pdf in the code on this one

@edwinksl @NathanOsman's userscript counts the number of active users. I want something similar: user count, maybe number of users on which site

1:55 AM
@Mateo where is this?

@Zacharee1 lel default password

ikr

@Zacharee1 inside the code of Cook Serve Delicious

who?

they did a source code bundle - humblebundle.com/gamemaker-bundle I'm practicing outputing to html5 for the ubuntu phone

@Zacharee1 well, of course, I recommend Go.

@NathanOsman if you help me with it, sure :p

In that case, sure.
I'll host an open-source Go server.
We can adapt my chat script.

@edwinksl wat
@NathanOsman OK

2:02 AM
@Zacharee1 ---^
i didn't understand a single thing but the song is nice

wat, you don't understand Hindi? pleb

@Mateo i am rather confused by what is happening in the video
but wow this song is catchy

mmm, yeah.

ok that next song youtube was going to play is full meme 360noscope

2:11 AM
@NathanOsman I need to go to bed, but I might have some time tomorrow

Okay.

@Zacharee1 -20 on MSE when you wake up

erg, too bad game maker dosn't have a linux build

it does..?

this netbook is installing updates when I told it to shutdown
@KazWolfe builds for, not runs on?

2:16 AM
there should be an option
i think it costs extra?
or something idk.

ooo, if there is that would be great, just saw the download page had .exe...
maybe a hidden beta...

i know there was a game making engine that you could buy the "compile to linux" thingy.

hm, looks like you set it up as a run target via ssh...

you need the pro version to export to linux/mac
so $150 as opposed to "free"

the pro version was in the bundle
but I'm not talking about exporting, just running the studio native

2:22 AM
oh...
i think that's windows only? don't quote me

so for another 15hours it is basically a $1 ;) humblebundle.com/gamemaker-bundle

WOAH WTF HUMBLE
brb finding $20

@KazWolfe yeah, looks like, but it does export to everything under the sun ;)
some fun learning stuff in there

yep. definitely gonna go find $20
if i can get basically the entire humble pack for $20... i'm in.

that level will get you the phone exports, and html5(which works on the ubuntu phone)
@KazWolfe this one all in is 15
yikes windows, what if I hit the shutdown button to pack up my laptop and go?? Keep it pluged in while it install 100's of things??

2:33 AM
then reinstall windows! :D
there's a way to force bypass, @Mateo.

@KazWolfe or swap the drive back to linux, wouldn't even be using it if it wasn't for gamemaker, and it coming on this net book

gamemaker on a netbook? ow.

it works

looks to work on Wine

will only be using it long enougth to get html5 output to have fun with back on my other laptop

Q: merge two folder with the same tree (auFS)

Gérard Le CloerecEnglish Hello ! I have a question which I can not find the answer. I am trying to merge two folder that contain the same tree and bring them together in a third folder that contains a link to the contents of two different folder, it is possible to do with auFS? If this is not possible, is there...

3:03 AM
quick question for chat
1. There are 75 chickens.
2. There are 43 cows.
Which of the two sound more precise?

3:30 AM
The second one??

well mathematically speaking they have the same precision, however you could say 43 sounds more precise.

i always find that annoying.
any number ending in 5 or 0 seems "imprecise"
on an unrelated note, i love script-kiddies :D

Suspicion of rounding up....

T: "o you think you're so great? gimme your ip and i'll hit u off"
M: "k 127.252.14.95"
T: *disconnection*

lol

3:35 AM
actually that's a really good way to troll ddos services too.
especially botnet services. trick them into hitting themselves. all of the bots get D/Cd.

4:19 AM
@KazWolfe ...and that's why we have scientific notation.
75 is more correctly written as 7.5e1.
That number has exactly 2 significant figures.
7500 has only two significant figures but the number 7.500e3 has four.
(Even though the two numbers have the same underlying value.)

4:51 AM
i'll write eveything on my next math test in scientific notation.
We'll see what grade my teacher gives me.

5:06 AM
How does a question with 24 views get the hot list?

5:17 AM
Views is cached.
It could be a lot higher.

and it's 35 now.
I think it is just that low

Heh. Interesting.

eh, it gave me 30rep so i'm happy

I'm thinking the "hot questions" algorithm takes into account the score in proportion to the views and the absolute number itself isn't that valuable.
In other words, 3 upvotes in 30 minutes means more than 10 upvotes in 10 days.
...or something like that.

A: SSH to home computers

Kaz WolfeIf you have IPv6, you don't even need port forwarding! Simply get your permanent IPv6 address and use this to tunnel in. As your IPv6 address is public-facing and allows the world to access you without having to go through your local NAT, you don't need to bother enabling port-forwarding anywhere...

5:25 AM
Just speculation at this point.

here's the (answer) to the question at hand

Good answer, BTW.

:D
I write okay bots and good answers :D

I can do that with devices on my network but I haven't enabled it yet since I have a few services on the machines that I'd rather not expose publicly.

And occasionally try to moderate things without breaking everything.
@NathanOsman You can always expose specific devices only, I think

5:27 AM
Right, but the devices have services I don't want exposed globally.

ufw
:P

Then it will block the services for the local network :P

or... you allow from the subnet, but not from the world

I may be able to configure some of the services to only listen for connections from the local subnet.
Don't have the time to configure that all yet though.
Right now it's just easier to whitelist services through the router.

like if you're 2001:db8:1:1::/64...

5:28 AM
In IPv4, I could listen on 192.168.0.0/16 and only local connections would be accepted.

ufw allow from 2001:db8:1:1::/64 to any port 1337?

Really, it's that easy?
I assume I can do a range of ports too...

i think so?
let me see.

IIRC, ufw allows you to also unconditionally allow a single program through the firewall.

┌─[✗]─[20:17:06]─[kazwolfe@BlackHawk]
└──> ~ $ sudo ufw allow from [moo]::/64 to any port 80
[sudo] password for kazwolfe:
Sorry, try again.
[sudo] password for kazwolfe:
Rules updated (v6)

5:30 AM
You forgot your password? :D

@NathanOsman, can you purge edit history pls? :D
no i just suck at typing
weird chiclet keyboard sucks

Sure, I can.

thanks, didn't catch my IP until too late
(yay i am an idiot)

Purged.

but yeah, it seems to work

5:32 AM
not the worst
serg has once pasted a password in plain text here before :P
ask him about it

or i think it works
@NathanOsman do you mind testing for me?
that is, if there's a secure channel to send an IP over.

@edwinksl So did James:
@KazWolfe What do you need me to do?

i want to see if this firewall works
i don't have an external connection.

I've got uTox up.

actually... wait, i do.
nvm.
i iz dum
and now i can't access it at all.
huh.

5:36 AM
@NathanOsman lol

brb testing with real webserver
in WolfBot Chat Bot Testing, 1 min ago, by WolfBot
[WolfBot] Found filtered post, matches word elementary: Error in dpgk, apt-get -f install or upgrade
@NathanOsman That ufw rule works, btw.
I have local access, but my DO instance does not.

That's good.

so... it should work?
it does here, at least
also, yay WolfBot!
it caught a valid post!
