So basically if a mod was pro-Trump , they banned everyone who asked Trump "sensetive" questions
@Rinzwind this is probably unilluminating, but using MATE, when I open font viewer by enabling the launcher and clicking on it, it dies... I see the command it's using is mate-font-viewer %u and when I run that I get Could not load face 'file:///home/zanna/%25u' (when I run mate-font-viewer it asks for an argument)
the problem is ... it comes from BOTH sides this time. And it is exposed rather quickly. Did you see that dude(a math professor I think it was) about the election results?
@HenryWHHackv2.0 If they are annoying you, then you need to come up with creative ways of getting them to not annoy you without them knowing that you're doing that.

The one I am using is actually a VGA display from old HP Pavilion that my friend gave away to me, because it was horribly slow and they got iPad, so they had no need for old rusty desktop anymore

dedication :) :) actually (kind of embarrassingly) I installed MATE partly to finish answering a question (OP randomly moved to MATE and so the original solution didn't work) and I'm kind of still using it because there don't seem to be many MATE users answering a lot on AU... I prefer using Xubuntu and I want to explore more
How exactly did you format the command ? Because that directory should not have been listed. By the way, did you try the command with or without -maxdepth 1 ? I've edited it a few minutes earlier, so you may have tried older one
If there are files there in that parent directory . . . your command will remove them . . . if OP wants to delete only directories , but keep files, your for loop will nuke everything that is not named "survived_dir"
