yesterday I learned that with systemd we should suspend with systemctl suspend - it works for me and I've never been able to suspend before - any other command or using GUI just causes total freeze
@Zanna here's the thing though. It isn't Ubuntu. It's something that allows Chromebooks to use Ubuntu. In my mind, it's like saying questions about rEFInd are on-topic because it's used to get Ubuntu working on Macs
> crouton is a set of scripts that bundle up into an easy-to-use, Chromium OS-centric chroot generator. Currently Ubuntu and Debian are supported (using debootstrap behind the scenes), but "Chromium OS Debian, Ubuntu, and Probably Other Distros Eventually Chroot Environment" doesn't acronymize as well (crodupodece is admittedly pretty fun to say, though).
I do not know where the history is stored, but you can turn search history off if you click on the three bars on the far left of the menu bar, then press preferences, and navigate to the privacy section. Here, you can turn off history and request that sites don't track you.
Visit about:preferences#privacy (type this in the url to open the privacy preferences, or navigate manually). Then tick off "Store visited pages and downloads" (Translated from german "Besuchte Seiten und Download-Chronik speichern"). This keeps the old history, but will not add new items to it. ...
@ParanoidPanda Close firefox. Get the md5sums (or just modification dates) of all files in your profile. Open firefox with nothing but an empty page, search something and close it again. Try and figure out which files changed.
@terdon I lived in Yorkshire for 5 years and we could communicate but their accent is not quite the same as ours. And actually I'm half scouse half yellowbelly... so really I am like a dialect translator
there is a famous village in Belguim where northern inhabitants can not understand the southern inhabitants. The northern part has a dutch dialect and the southern one french.
Firefox stores information in three different files basically (possible to have more), places.sqlite (for the bookmarks and sites you have visited), formhistory.sqlite (autocomplete history) and downloads.sqlite (all your downloads). (Personally have encountered cookies.sqlite too)
To find these...
But still only gives me a pointer for one of my questions, and doesn't actually do any more than point me in the probably right direction. Though I haven't been able to find what I am looking for still. He also does not tell me how to disable it.
@jokerdino it's a church I believe... Chesterfield people are very proud of it, but I went there with an Iranian friend and he said 'we Asians just do not get this. You screwed up building something... would you like us to fix it for you?'
@Zanna Indeed. Mine's quite weird actually. I have an American father with a mild west coast accent, I grew up in Greece, went to uni in the UK and then lived in Spain and France. At this point, my accent is all over the place.
